300 rounds of 7.62x51 !!  plus rifle, pistol and gear ––alot of weight to haul around. But if you need it..........tis better to have than have not I guess.
and with all that you keep and extra EMPTY pistol mag ???!!

Thats a really drawn out battle to go 300 rounds with out any reload/resupply.

that guy must have OCD the way he kept readjusting how everything was positioned. I also like how he tried to hide the mag with Fail wrote on it after it was already out in the open for everyone to see.

The original rigs I believe the Rhodies carried only had enough room for 3 or 4 mags.........

I have two sets of that SA Pattern 70 gear.  Nice stuff, but it's so new it's still very stiff.  I need to soften it up.

I got them when Sportsmans Guide screwed up and priced them at $14.95 per set.  Didn't take long for that stuff to sell out.  Sure wish I had gotten more.

CZ 52 and an EMPTY spare magazine?  He's easily got over $1,300 in kit....and a cheap, obsolescent pistol

No food, no water, no medical pouch

South African Pattern 70 Webbing (and why its badass)

300 rounds for a full auto in the jungle? Seems appropriate.

And that is not a lot of weight if you are not wearing armor.

I have two of those rigs.

They seem very clumsy and impractical to me, except just for carrying bulk cargo.  You can't really use the mag pouches on the sides and top flaps of the big pouch thingies.  It's a cargo belt.

My rig of choice is the FMCO CLBV-M5 8 MAG VEST, with:

Canadian web belt through belt loops at bottom

Canadian FN-C1 2x20 rd mag pouches as needed

US M12 holster & Browning HP as needed

US M1956 or FMCO butt pack, canteens, bayonet, etc, as needed

It's for my bedside in case things go bump in the night... And in that role it's probably significant overkill.

I have other rigs, tailored to different roles. But I don't exactly live in Mogadishu. The only one I train with significantly is that scout rig, and for my needs it's great.

Less is generally more. I'm amazed at the guys with fifteen mags in their rigs for home defense.

Now if your job discription is "combat arms", things are a tad different. But I'm fairly sure Mr. Five Thousand FAL Mags is in a boat more similar to mine.

I have 4 mags on a chicken plate, bedside. Carbine and pistol have lights, and bike helmet has nods, for outside or blackout imes.. Extra surefire on the rig. I was just pushing ya. Smilies and all that.
