ONLY Conservatives can possibly be called hypocrites.  Try and keep up.

That's the interesting thing really.  When you are supposed to have some type of values, then and only then can someone turn around and see if you really hold yourself to them.



Of course are we talking a fiscal conservative, social conservative, etc?  I wouldn't call someone who was pro-abortion a conservative.  I would call them either a liberal in the modern use of the word or a libertarian.  



That seems to be the missing link anymore.  There is a huge difference between a liberal, libertarian, and then conservative.  A Venn diagram may be in order...



 

They are all hypocrites. The system is broken and I am sick of it. I believe toward conservative, but I just can't call myself a Republican anymore. Classical Liberal maybe. Borderline Libertarian. But even then I'm tired of having to put a label on beliefs. The truth is we as a people have lost control of our country. It has turned into a big popularity contest to see which corporation can fund the prettiest candidate. The people have virtually no say anymore, the politicians owe us no allegiance as its not the voters that fund them anymore.

We need to make being a politician a shitty job. Pay it like we do the teachers and disallow all other income and perks. Get people to do because they want to help the country, not build a bank account or their power base. As long as we allow a system that promotes assholes its all we will get.

I'm a hard core Jeffersonian libertarian. Killing babies is not consistant with libertarian ideals. I will never understand where that particular notion came from.

Many Republicans think that expanding the power of the government is patriotic and the right thing to do, because it is good for America.  These are the same types of people who instantly assume everyone is guilty after reading a news article, and couldn't care less if there will be a trial.  They are loyal to the federal government, not the Constitution.  If they think something like a foreign war will help protect the country, they they are the judge, jury and executioner on that decision.  They think short term gains in power at the expense of long-term destruction is acceptable.  Call them neo-cons, statists, big-government conservatives or whatever.  They aren't worse than Democrats, but almost as bad.

All the paranoid loony left wing talking points. Impressive. What leftwing ogasm rag do you work for anyway? Reagan got us into this mess? the patriot act and so much of our freedoms? serial adultery? hilarious! LOL!

Goldwater didn't care about gays in the military and detested the Christian right. Was he a homo-loving Conservative hypocrite?
W.F. Buckley denounced the Iraq war. Was he a Israel hating Conservative hypocrite?
Ronald Reagan was an abortion supporting Democrat before he was a pro-life Republican. Was he a flip flopping hypocrite?

We are in decline because each side has gotten to the point where they must will at all costs and everyone else's ideas can go to h-e-doublle-hocky-sticks.
The left want too much socialism
The right want to much intrusion
The crazies want to be recognized as having good ideas
The sane want the arguments to stop and consensus achieved

None of this will happen until either a) the coutry fails, or b) a WW2 sized war erupts.
