After all, we are talking about Ohio! j/k
The kids and I are going to visit my great uncle in Centerville OH next week. He, too, is a gun nut (though more of the O/U Perazzi crowd)! He did get excited at the idea of my bringing out some of my toys, particularly my M-1 Carbine (his issue rifle as a radio operator in the Marines in WWII). So,.... his favorite range is on the agenda! We have also planned to visit the AF museum at Wright-Patt.
Some questions come to mind:
1) Can I use the Air Force Lodge at Wright-Patt? I'm active duty Marine Corps w/ the ID card and valid base registration to prove it! Or is that going to require a restricted area pass above and beyond the normal, and not worth the trouble?
2) Same scenario as above, as it applies to the commissary and exchange.
3) Since we are already going to the range, are there any local restrictions about bringing / using my post ban AR-10A4 Carbine? I suspect that the same rules would apply to my M-1 Carbine, but better to ask a local!
4) Any other suggested points of interest for us to visit?
In addition to, or rather than posting here (in the interest of national security), you can also email me at:
