Good movie but the opening credits with a remake of Led Zeppelin's Immigrant song was outstanding!
The emo chick with the piercing got hotter as the movie progressed. Very cool how they pulled that off. Immigrant Song |

I never actually read the lyrics before |

Very cool how they pulled that off. She did in the original version as well. That's how my GF sold it to me to watch! I was like "Swedish subtitle movie" And she's like, "The chick is really hot. She has a great ass and is your type. Except for the metal and ink." So early in the film I'm like, "Meh, not so hot..." And GF was, "She gets hotter, just wait..." and she was right! Interesting how they preserved this bit of cinematic detail. |

Hot? That looks like Frodo Baggins.
roy d....and Gollum had a love child |

After the opening credits we both looked at each other wide-eyed. Swedish version of the trilogy is on Netflix streaming right now BTW. Much closer to the books. |

Heres a little info on the actor Rooney Mara who plays the hot emo chick.
Several sources, including Vogue and Entertainment Weekly, reported that the piercings (including multiple ear, eyebrow, and nipple piercings) that Rooney Mara sports as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo were real, not cosmetic simulations. Mara got the piercings in a series of sessions in Brooklyn and Sweden. –– IMDb Trivia: Rooney Mara |

Saw it tonight, good flick. Very hard for a movie to be as in depth and detailed as the book. I've read them, and thought the movie stood up well.

The Nordic version with subtitles is better and the chick is hotter too.

The Nordic version with subtitles is better and the chick is hotter too. Is this the one on Netflix? If so how did the American version jive with the Nordic one? I thought the trilogy on NF was very well done. |

I thought the chick was some sort of super hero. I saw the film with my mother and her 17 year old step daughter the other day.
|
|
I actually liked this version better than the original Swedish.
Less Millenium magazine more Blomkvist, Vanger and Salander. |

She just seemed to get more feminine or softer you would have to see it. |

Then she just sat there and blew him. |

Rooney Mara was in The Social Network for a few minutes and was awesome in it. I became much more interested in the gwtdt remake once I knew she was the lead.
Both she and her sister seem considerably more intelligent than the average actress. |

Very impressive, and now I have to go read the books. It didn't seem like two and half hours to me. I've watched 90 min movies that seemed a hell of a lot longer. |

Hmm. I thought the movie looked stupid, I might have to go check it out!

GF and I saw it new years eve and thought it was pretty good overall.

There's another version of the movie but it doesn't have the only James Bond that matters so it doesn't count.
The book isn't old enough for anything to be considered a remake. |
|
|
yeah she was hot. I mean, fucked up psychologically, but I'd hit it and quit it.

My fiance said the American version was closer to the book and the portrayal of the TGWTDT was more accurate in the American version.
I thought it was a good movie but didn't like the Swedish version. |

If you liked the American version, watch the Swedish version of all 3 films(Dragon Tatoo, Played with Fire, Kicked the Hornet's Nest). I will have to see how the American version measures up.

This was VERY VERY WELL MADE. My wife came out very very negative about the British American version and she did not want to see it but came out very impressed with it being it was close to the book and all of the key events.
