I went to see the movie on Christmas day and a couple sat near me. During the second very violent rape scene the girl near me started giggling. I shit you not she was giggling like a school girl. That unnerved me more than the actually scene did.

I thought both were very good. I didn't expect the American version to be as violent or graphic, thereby blunting the story a bit. I was surprised to say the least.

i thought just the opposite. she was closed off and boxed in and did what she had to do to survive (plus got pretty spectacular payback!)

. she started opening up at the end of the movie (the swedish version). she was a strong willed girl.

not sequential––-the us version has some stuff in it the swedish version does not––––-and vice versa––––still trying to find time to see the 2nd and 3rd swedish movies in the series to see what the american movie added or not

I've seen the subtitled version and it is dark....dark... dark. I'm just wondering if they've toned it down in this version?
