Without a doubt Lumpy. Your father and friend are in my prayers. If I can give you a few words of hope is that modern medicine is working miracles everyday.
Most important...get second and Third opinions. You have options... just remember that. |

Thanks all for your thoughts & prayers, we appreciate it. Dad is feeling better this morning and doesn't appear as bloated. They still don't know much at this point so they are keeping him till monday for observation (and he [i]isn't[/i] very happy about it). I am heading up to see him before I have to go to work.
I still don't have any news on my friend, she went to a different hospital. If you don't mind me asking, what are the symptoms of your dad? He has been having stomach cramps that he described as feeling like "being kicked by a mule". He hasn't wanted to eat and was starting to appear bloated. Thanks again folks. |

Happy to hear your Dad is feeling better. Seems like that increses the chance that it's NOT a tumor. I've got a real fine idea of how you're feeling, since both my folks went from GI system cancer. Wishing you and your Dad all the best.

Prayers sent... I just had a similar experience... It turned out to be diverticulitis, so liquid diet and double antibiotics cleared it up in 10 days... Felt better in 5... I don't wish it on anyone, but it's better than a tumor... Hang in there Lumpy

Lumpy don't worry sounds like Diverticulitus. This is not a disease to take lightly. If could turn into Crones Disease. He needs IV's and Antibiotics to help. The blockages are the problem. It will be ok and over 90% of patients don;don't need more that explore surgery. Diet will help and a good altitude. My prayers are out My higher power shall be there for him and You. You are an important part of this. So hang in there and allow it into Gods Hands. You need anything use my e-mail.

They released my dad from the hospital today. He was able to eat solid foods without any problems. He is feeling and looking a lot better. It doesn't look like he will be getting any surgury any time soon. I still don't know what the problem was/is. For now we will be happy that he is feeling better and will be avoiding the knife. He has follow up visits scheduled. I still dont have any information on my friend which worries me a bit. I will be seeking out information. Thank you all for your positive thoughts & prayers. I am glad to be part of this "AR Family". |

sorry, prayers yer way........ but.., tuff up bud, i know the routine, my Dad died this tyme last year, my wife has been in & out of the hospital 5 tymes in the last year due to her heart prob. she is still on the transplant list, just got her stabilized, then i went in the hosp. a few tymes then got a couple stents in my heart... it will all get better, my Mother always said, "it's always darkest just before dawn" your prayers will be answered........... |

I hope you find out about your friend. It's very frustrating having someone in the hospital and not knowing what's up. I've learned to be more aggressive about demanding explanations regarding what his/her condition is. I hope the news continues to be good! |
