Where the HELL are these benefits?  You make it sound like green card holders get some special treatment.

With a green card, you get to pay taxes and get the same worthless social services that any other legal resident of the U.S. gets.

Green card holders do not get any special treatment.  In fact, I get to pay into social security, but I won't ever get the benefits (unless they changed that).  I get to pay taxes, but I don't get to vote (remember "no taxation without representation?).

I'm not complaining, but you are incorrect if you are saying that green card holders get some special benefit.  If you are talking about medicare and medicaid, then I suppose you are right - but as far as "benefits" go, I'm not impressed.

Please don't take this the wrong way because i don't mean anything against you.

You shouldn't be getting any benefits at all. If you want benefits go through the motions and become a citizen. If you just want to enjoy our standard of living by working here then you should be paying taxes here. you get the protection of LE and FD., the military, education for your family, and countless other USA benefits that are not SOCIAL programs. not to mention the ability to live in the best country on the planet.
Taxation without representaion is a joke but thats another subject. I know of VERY few politicians that represent my veiws.

and what exactly is your point? If you are here illegally you should be reported to the INS by your doctor or employer or anyone else that finds out. Then your ass should be deported.

As for taking a long time to become a citizen again what is your point. Anything worth doing takes time. Could it be done faster, sure, but that is our system. If you are a legal resident and plan on staying here then join us. If not don't bitch about not getting benefits you ARE NOT entitled to as a resident alien. Lets look at the options here. live in a 3rd world shithole or pay taxes and live in the USA. I don't like paying taxes either but up to a point it is a necessary evil. If i moved to mexico i'd fully expect to pay mexican taxes. If i planned to live there permanatly i'd play the game to become a citizen and be "entitled" to the same benifits they enjoy.

No, no - don't worry.

Like I said in my post, I'm NOT complaining at all.  I was just repsonding to the original post the made it sound like people with a Green Card get all sorts of snazzy benefits not available to regualr folk.

I'm just here to work because there's a demand for my skills.  I've been here for over 10 years, and I might stay for quite a while, but I have no interest in becoming a citizen.

 

The gubmnet should use this trick to get the illegals
to sign up for a free one, then ship them out.
