IH8MUD.com for all things Toyota Related.
some of the guys there are really a wealth of knowledge and take their old cruisers pretty seriously. Pretty valuable for me when I rebuilt the FJ40. I know you said Jeep, but you said a "build" so you may want to take a peek over there. |

Just make sure to introduce yourself in the Ford section if you drive a Ford, Chevy if you drive a Chevy etc. etc.
Be sure to mention that you're new. Then reachout by posting a picture of your truck posing on a rock or in your driveway freshly washed. If your truck is box stock then use at least 7 pics. Tell them about all the parts you think your truck came with. Ask about lockers. They like that, a proper introduction. Expedidtion Portal .com is a good place as well. Deosn't move as fast and is a bit more practical than the hardcore Pirate site. |

He needs to ask if 33x12.5's will fit stock wheels! Yeah. "What size tires fit on stock rims" is thier favorite topic. And they don't have "Aimpoint vs Eotech" They have Zaino vs Mothers". Be sure to mention your favorite wax. |

Uhhh I think I'll go with Planet 4x4. No dice on Pirate 4x4.
I wanted the ARF of 4x4 forums not the 4 chan of 4x4 forums. I am less than a newb, I'm a mechanical tard when it comes to vehicles and I think I'd just be cannon fodder for those dudes. I want to learn though and I'd like to start with an old Toyota pickup or build a CJ8 Scrambler. Putting a poll like that on Pirate 4x4 would probably get my house burned down. |

Trial by fire my man, survive PBB and you're good to go! They know their shit and won't tolerate idiots, go there and learn. |

I have found arfcommers on just about every automotive forum I am a member of. OP, Pirate is a great wealth of knowledge, just do a lot of reading. Also being a red star (paying) member helps a bit. People are more willing to chime in with real advice if you support the site. Does not give a license to ask dumb questions, but does give a tiny bit of cred. |

If you looking for Jeep info, Jeepforum.com will probably be you best bet, 4x4 in general Pirate 4x4, the only thing about pirate4x4 is read a lot, but only ask questions you haven't searched for first, and make sure they are not stupid or the members will bite your head off, so my advice if your going to pirate 4x4 put your flame suit on.
