I recently ordered an RRA 9mm upper from them after confirming availability and a price they listed in a for sale post here (as it wasn't listed on their website) in the "Ask Ed" forum on their website. They reponded in the affirmative. I placed my order (after a few false starts when their online ordering system failed), but didn't hear anything back for about 10 days, nor was my CC charged. When I requested status, I was informed they were currently waiting for uppers from RRA.
Now, I thought I was pretty clear in my question when I asked they were in stock, however, I suppose it was possible that they may have missed that. This just confirms that is always better to actually speak with someone in situations like this (I would not have placed my order if I thought they were backordered like everyone else), but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time.
I believe they are out of the rifles you are looking for, however. From the image, it also appeared that they had the lightweight barrels, and not the M4 profile barrels, despite what they were being called. I also believe that these were not factory built RRA guns, nor even all RRA parts - if you notice, these guns were being offered with chrome lined barrels before RRA's were even available. If you check the forums on their website, I think he mentions in one of the threads that they are BM barrels. That is all well and good, but I think that if they are being advertised as RRA rifles, then they should be 100% RRA, factory built rifles.
It appears he does this with most or all of the guns he sells - buys the components and assembles them himself. As I said, there is nothing wrong with this, but I think it is a bit misleading. When someone advertises a Bushmaster, RRA, whatever rifle for sale, I think they expect to get one that the manufacturer built themselves. This theory is given more weight by the fact that GS advertises a 1 year warranty on all their rifles, which wouldn't make sense if they were factory built rifles - they'd then go by the manufacturers warranty. Once again, there is nothing wrong GS building the rifles, and I'm sure they have excellent smith(s) that build fine rifles, but I think their presentation can be very misleading at times.
