Sheesh, don't get me started on that. I TRIED to get DSL through Flashcom, which used Northpoint as a contractor, and those incompetent farts couldn't ever get the damned thing to work. I switched to Verizon and they FINALLY got my DSL working.

Lost it a while ago...psn.net closed and was forced to another provider.
Now have a new line through my local Telco and a different provider. Telocity was attempting to go to all Northpoint lines at one point since local CLEC's service sucked so bad (notably pacific bell). Northpoint turned down an offer led by Telocity and other ISP's to keep the service to the lines running. oh well. better luck next time? |

Covad is supposed to be offering STATIC IP's starting on APRIL 2, 2001. To see if you qualify go to www.covad.com and check out dslreports.com. Good luck.

My ISP is currently in negotiation with another DSL provider. It's probably SBC/Ameritech. I could be stuck with dial-up for two months.
I'm sure going to miss the 1/2 T1 bandwidth SDSL, though. Performance was flawless for 10 months. |
