I mean just how many times can you show "Deliverance" in a two week period?

We got a week of Dirty Harry, then we got a week of Charles Bronson.

In between we get this fat guy taking it up the ass.

I have a few hard and fast rules for life, most of them derived from bitter experience ––mine or someone else's. One of those rules: I will not take part in a canoeing trip in the southeastern quadrant of CONUS unless Burt Reynolds is along in a Farmer John wetsuit and has his compound bow with him.

A man's got to have rules, and that's one of mine.

Being a fan of Bear Archery equipment,  Canoes and Bluegrass music, the movie causes me to not know if Im gut shot, snakebit or powderburnt

Wanting to die and dieing are two different things, and I think I'd rather let someone else do them anyway...

See that zippered pocket?

The book Operation DarkHeart was written by intelligence dude in Afghanistan, and the publisher had to redact a bunch of stuff out of the book.  Some pre-release copies of the book that wasn't redacted got released though and people have compared online the two versions to see what was redacted.

Why is this relevant to this conversation you ask?  Apparently the fact that Ned Beatty starred in Deliverance is a matter of national security, his name was redacted from the book.

Among the more unnecessary redactions: the name of "Deliverance" star Ned Beatty –– "which is not properly classified in any known universe" –– but is blacked out on page 15 of the book. Overall, the national security classification exemplified in the new book "does not exactly command respect," writes Aftergood.

Agreed. Also, one can proselytize all day about what they would do, reality is a whole other thing.

Indeed. But one can take measures to increase one's odds.

Very true, hiking without some kind of firearm is just insane to me...I have a lib friend who was horrified that I carry in the so peaceful and pretty woods... one rabid animal or rapist will change her view on that.
