Lot of good movies that summer (see Wargames above). Good time for a 17 year old.

Oh and in Dec I got to swear to "Support the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic", my Father swore me in.

Marine Barracks in Beirut were bombed on October 23rd. This year marks the 28th anniversary.

When I was a young PFC our Company Gunny was a Beirut vet. God help the soul that didn't now the significance of Oct 28th 1983 if he asked you.
