Awww I miss the 80's

I always thought of Blue Thunder as more "realistic" Always wondered how a helo was supposed to use afterburners and not rip it's rotors off. I'd still take Airwolf though. |

Speaking of the 80's, who remembers this fine piece of television viewing? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCItnKrXvMM One of my favorite shows as a kid. For some reason the intro theme has stuck in my head as one of my all time favorites. |
|
Blue Thunder, the movie. Who are you fooling with that phony radio bullshit? Jesus Christ, Frank, that went out three days after Marconi invented the fucking thing!
|
|
Blue Thunder, hands down. One of my all time favorite movies.

Airwolf! But as a kid I watched both! Damn I miss the eighties cheesy actions shows and dramas!
|

"The Lady", would have been way too much for blue thunder.
She could kick the shit out of 3 or 4, F4's at a time. Too many weapons. Bluethunder, wouldn't have been able to get a shot off. |

I remember reading that the stunt pilot on "Blue Thunder" said the bird was nose heavy as fuck.
Anyone remember the TV show from the very late 80s early 90s, lasted only one season I think? It had that blonde Australian guy who had done an annoying Duracell commercial about knocking the battery off of his shoulder. Anyway, he drove a black stealth tractor-trailer that the cab then detached and became a helicopter. Sorry, all I have to go on. |

Airwolf! Not even a contest. Yep. I was very young then but I always liked airwolf and fall guy. |
|
I remeber that, it was on in South Africa when I was young and innocent, the truck could also turn invisable

Friend from school and I used to have this argument all the time when both shows were on back in '86. I always chose Airwolf simply because I thought it was a sleeker and cooler-looking craft.
|
|
Oh, and for the record, Airwolf wins.
It actually had real guns on it. |

Airwolf. Blue Thunder looked cooler but Airwolf FTW. Airwolf had nukes. And guided missiles that could take out aircraft and ships. |

Airwolf in whisper mode for the win!!! Blue Thunder had whisper mode. The Blue Thunder helicopter was an Aérospatiale SA-341G Gazelle with a bolt on front in to give it that "Apache" look. As to who would win; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hauEPt199Ew |

Here's one I use almost everyday at the shop: There's a moral to this story. I like morals, they're good for you. And the moral of this story is: "when you're walking on eggs; don't hop."

The loach was the hotrod of that movie. Hmmm, insider info, no? |

The loach was the hotrod of that movie. Hmmm, insider info, no? Yes, sir. My father owned the helicopter company that leased all the helicopters (except the Gazelle) for both Airwolf and Blue Thunder, as well as Tron, and a whole slew of other productions in that time frame. |

May have been already answered but the Rotors disengaged and the helo could only go in straight line. More like a get the hell outta dodge idea than a normal mode of locomotion. |

Anyone remember Hightower was in the Blue Thunder TV show? Hell, so was Dana Carvey. My list: Blue Thunder-movie Airwolf Blue Thunder- tv show . . . . . . Airwolf-last season Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I recently got the first discs of both Airwolf and Blue Thunder's first seasons from Netflix. Airwolf was cheesy, but tolerable. Blue Thunder was so bad, I only watched the first episode. The Blue Thunder movie was much, much better.
