It's a very good idea to run a propane torch flame on any freshly drained copper plumbing line to clear out residual water before brazing on a new cap.
I also learned that a stiff bristle, nylon brush does a good job of removing solder spatter from clothing.

I learned how the lower sear lever actuates the upper sear lever and presses the firing pin lock plunger out of engagement to free the firing pin when the trigger is pulled on a Colt Series 80 1911.

And I also learned that the leather military shoulder holster issued for the 1911 during World War II was designated the "M-3 Holster" (and I guess there was an "M-7" variant too but I don't know the difference).
