just sitting here bored and wondering if any of you own any plated weapons? I'm not really talking about nickle or chrome plated revolvers and other handguns that were kinda meant to be that way. but do you have anything like chrome plated AKs or gold deagles?
reason I ask is because I still want a gold plated and a chrome plated AK type rifle to put on the wall over my fireplace. those gold plated ones with the rosewood furniture found in Iraq were really good looking. I guess there is some gangsta in me somewhere, trying to get out. |

Bright nickel plated RIA GI 1911. I bought it because it matches (ish) Dean Winchester's pistol from Supernatural. That gun restored the faith in 1911s that my father's Kimber took away.

Nickle Colt 1908 and Colt Mustang. Used to have a .50 Queen Ann pistol with silver plated lockwork.

Nickel pre-model S&W Mod 27 (made before they actually called it the Model 27). 5" barrel five-screw design. One of my favorite pistols, actually.

Have a trap gun with gold inlay on it so I guess that counts. It's a damn good looking trap gun too.
Completely plated, couldn't do it in gold, nickel, anything else but inlays on sporting shotguns look nice. |

I've got a 4" factory nickel M19 S&W that some retarded jackass decided to gold plate the hammer/trigger/cylinder release/cylinder on. They also put a set of poorly fitted and poorly made stocks on it. The plating started flaking off before I finished the first cylinderful of ammo through it.

KelTec P3AT with a hard chrome slide.
SigArms Trailside with an electroless nickel plated slide |

I hate em. I have two that are stainless and that's the closest I get to any of that.
I got done working the gun show today and staring at that ugly ass nickel plated Taurus with gold controls and pearl grips. made me sick. Not as much as Colt's line of .38 super 1911's that they keep putting out. The Mexicans come in and buy the shit out of them at $2k/each, but I hate them. |

I tried to plate a Hi power nickle , but it did not turn out right .

Mossberg 500 mariner.
A chromed out .22 cowboy 8 shooter that is my at home drop gun. I probably shouldn't have posted the above. |

A friend of mine has a gold plated Colt .45 revolver that he inherited from his father (in box, has been handled, but never cocked or fired) - he thinks it's worth $5-10k - any idea what it's really worth?

Nickle plated Stoger coach gun exactly like the one pictured above.

series 70 colt, my pimp gun, still need a big purple fuzzy hat to go with it
|
|
Slide on my LCP is hard chromed and wife's S&W 37 is nickeled. Both came that way from the factory.
|
|
None, had a plated series 70 Colt 1911 though...I miss that one.

I have two nickel plated firearms. One I bought and the other was dumped on me. I also have a very polished stainless steel Colt 1911. I thought it was nickel because it was so shiny. After I pulled it apart, I saw there was no yellow tint suggesting a copper undercoating. It was grayish - stainless steel!

One satin nickle Colt Series 70 and Browning BDM with a satin nickle frame.

Nickle-plated Beretta "Laramie" (S&W Schofield clone) in .45 Colt.

|
No but I always wanted to fine a well worn Glock and get the slide hard chromed, matte.
