I like shiny things and for the shear ridiculousness of them. BTW they are not reflective car bumper type chrome, it's hard chrome like the inside of a barrel.

One could argue that the coating does have utility because of the increased wear resistance and predisposition to not rust but that isn't why I bought them.

just sitting here bored and wondering if any of you own any plated weapons?  I'm not really talking about nickle or chrome plated revolvers and other handguns that were kinda meant to be that way.  but do you have anything like chrome plated AKs or gold deagles?

reason I ask is because I still want a gold plated and a chrome plated AK type rifle to put on the wall over my fireplace.  those gold plated ones with the rosewood furniture found in Iraq were really good looking.   I guess there is some gangsta in me somewhere, trying to get out.

Reading is key...

Bill
Then again, neither the OP or yourself are in charge here.

Dude, here is a good one for you, the OP wants to know "What Was Your First HANDgun" you can post picts of your rifles!

If you call NP3 "plating," then yes.

The bottom half of my Browning Hi Power Practical is electroless nickeled.

And AFAIK Mossberg's "Marine Coat" is electroless nickel plating:

They're cool, man.

I would so love to have a gold titanium nitride PVD'd Krinkov.  One, because it's a very durable finish, but also because it's gaudy, it's fun, it's silly, and no matter what you have to say about it, you know you'd want to take a turn behind the trigger.

Right now, all we really have that qualifies is my wife's Sig P238 rainbow (Google picture, not hers):

It's very cool.

Sounds like it deserved the "gold treatment" , looks like it has some fine company to "hang" with.
