After reading that thread about Cancer treatment centers, it certainly seems like there's no shortage of voodoo medicine and snake oil gimmicks available to those dying of cancer, hoping to prey on their hopes or their wallets, or both.  So I was hoping that in this thread we arfcommers could post links to some newer forms of cancer treatment that may be available that some might not have known about.

Do NOT include bullshit stuff like those laetrile supplements you can buy that are derived from the pits of apricots that are essentially low doses of cyanide all in the attempt to get people to believe that if you take it enough your body builds up an immunity of sorts.

So I'll go first and post this link to help people locate proton radiation therapy centers in the country.  There are not very many, but a few more are being built.  Proton radiation is different than traditional x-ray radiation because it does not pass completely through the targeted tissue.  Proton radiation is able to be controlled very precisely.  Suppose you have a tumor in the middle of your brain, the proton radiation will travel only to that targeted tissue and will stop.  Traditional x-ray radiation would pass completely through, destroying perfectly healthy tissue on the other side in the process.

Multiple beams of radiation, each one is not powerful enough to do much, but when they all converge they zap whatever its aimed at.  Other versions bolt the head bracket to your skull, this one positions off you teeth, much better.
