How do you polish #8 mirrored stainless steel? I had some steel parts laser cut for my halloween costume and it shows fingerprints pretty easily. What can I use to keep it shiny while I'm out and before I go out?

first things that pop into my head are windex, dont touch it, and put some sort of clear covering over it.

So an automative wax would work? I've got this wet polymer stuff that I use on my car (Turtle Wax Ice), think that'd work?

It's for my halloween costume. I'm gonna pick up some 22kt gold vinyl to overlay text on it. Wax before or after...? I'm guessing before because vinyl's a pain to wax around.
