First the militia leader gets setup by the ATF, now this:

Is it just me, or are the feds busting people with "thousands of rounds of ammunition, pipe bombs and bomb-making materials and hate literature" with an alarmingy frequency?

I wonder how much of that hate literature is federally produced for planting as evidence? Not that our beloved federal government and its official emmisaries would ever become corrupt, perish the thought.

Or maybe the guy just shot the local sheriff because he didn't take kindly to the "routine" traffic stop bs that is going on all over the country?

You must be very proud of the shooter.

As far as the moral argument that "my country" has been attacked, all I can say is, this isn't "my country" and hasn't been for quite a long time. I pay nearly half my income in taxes and have no functioning representation in "my government". As far as I'm concerned, it was New York, in all its decandent, decaying socialist splendor that was attacked more than anything else. I used to live there and I can tell you--if the whole city gets nuked at some point, the big loss will be to capitalism, not to the gene pool. Personally, I'd rather see them bust up DC where a comeuppance is so richly deserved.

No, I don't know him or the exact circumstances.

I just keep seeing the same things taking place over and over again.  Around these parts its usually a poor, black guy doing the shooting.  I think both sides are at fault.  Blacks, especially are just tired of getting harassed every time they go anywhere in a car.  For them, getting pulled over by the police is a life or death situation.

Some of my family members and friends have been continually harrassed by a no good town sheriff and his dumbass deputies for no other reason than they have nothing better to do than mess with people and write them  tickets.  They (the town council is in on the scheme) even lowered all the speed limits in town to ensure that everyone is speeding all the time.  It's happened where I live, too, and it's probably happened just about everywhere else as well.

How would you feel if you lived someplace your entire life and nobody ever bothered you and you never bothered anyone else. Then, in the last oh, five to ten years or so, you started getting pulled over for this or that pretext by some young punk deputy who is 30 years younger than you and thinks he's going to lay down the law?

There is a new mentality out there--they're out to save you from yourself, I guess.  Decent people like me and my family don't take too kindly to that sort of mentality, however.  Crime used to involve some kind of victimization by someone upon someone else.  Now crime is just what the people in power say it is.  Very dangerous.

That doesn't even broach the issue of the crimes that the ATF perpetrates--now that's real, actual crime.

I think you're defining "life or death situation" too broadly.

Do you really believe that a black motorist who's been pulled over should consider himself in mortal jeopardy?  I suspect that fewer than one tenth of one percent of such traffic stops result in the death of the motorist.

I was being a bit wild with that statement.  I wanted someone to say something like "they're only in mortal jeopardy if they do something to provoke the cop" and then I was going to pounce.

I don't like to hear about people shooting and killing the police and I do think that this incident in KY is more dirty politics than retribution, but you never know.  CNN is not known for its objective reporting.  They create the news as they see fit.
