Thanks......I already had a unhealthy liking to CR but the Jameson is
That is all..... |

Jameson is like PBR. I will stick to Crown. I bought a bottle of CR and Jameson today......It is very nice with a slighty different taste than CR |
I don't care for Canadian, Tennessee or Tookillya. I like Bourbon, Rum, and Irish.
Jameson is my drink of choice, but the whiskey snobs will be along shortly to tell you how terrible it is.
I just ran a full bottle of crown though the Britta Filter....
Jameson? Blech!
Pendleton > Crown Royal > All Others Besides...comparing an Irish urine/semen/pondwater/wood alcohol mixture strained through a dirty gym sock and labeled as Irish whiskey doesn't hold a candle to any Canadian blend out there. Apples to oranges. |
My buddies love Crown. I think it is nice but prefer Jameson myself.

Two different vehicles; but they will both get you where you want to go. I used to prefer Crown, but Jameson had an oaky flavor that was a good change of pace. Canadian Club 12 year old (Classic), tastes like Crown, is cheaper, but a little rough on the tonsils. I quit drinking 2 years ago...couldn't justify all the high blood pressure medicine, just to drink.

Bushmills > Jameson You shut your whore Protty mouth! And for the record... just kidding, reliving an argument I once had with a Protestant in an Irish bar as we debated whether we would drink Jamesons or Bushmills. The final agreement after much screaming is we would graciously drink what the other was buying and then tell each other why their whiskey was shit and why ours was superior. Good times. From what I can remember... |
I like both, whatever, I've drank a bottle of Old Crow before so....
In my experiences, I've found people that like Crown Royal also like Jose Cuervo and Jack Daniels.
Just sayin'. |

Tried the Crown Royal Black a few weeks ago... I was wondering how it tastes compared to regular Crown. Give me the run down please. |

I'm not saying it doesn't have it's place...but it's place is no where near the top shelf, and I'd rate Jamesons over CR anyday. One is for coke, the other is for ice (or maybe a car-bomb ) |

Pretty much, until you get to Black Bush or Middletons Irish.
Jameson? Blech! I agree and so does my protestant (deceased) Grandfather. Pendleton > Crown Royal > All Others That is where I have to disagree, Pendleton is too sweet. Military special I have been told this from one of my troops and am waiting to find it available at the class 6 to try. Tastes like halfway in between pendleton and CR in sweetness level, from what I am told. |

Apples to oranges. Break some of these down "Barney Style" for me as you list them. Im 37 and have tried , Crown, Jim Beam, Jack, Canadian Mist, Fourty Creek, Wisers. Yeah, i only took up drinking seriously a few years ago. Ive sorta just stuck with those i mentioned. |

A friend turned me on to Forty Creek.
I'm not saying it's better than Crown, but if both were offered I'd take the Forty. |

I love the way Crown burns on the way down and then when it hits bottom. I will drink Forty Creek though. It is really good mixed with water. |

My boss at where I used to work in the summer was big on Forty Creek. In fact it was my first whiskey because I snagged some at his daughter's wedding. My experiences with it have been sporadic. I don't think the taste is ever very consistent. Like one of the above posts said, it's pretty smooth. I usually don't pick up much alcohol taste. For some reason it sometimes has an overpowering banana taste, but as with my comment on consistency, it's not always there. |

Also a pretty good Whiskey that no-one has yet to mention that compares very closley to Crown XR is Tangle Ridge.
Slightly too sweet in comparison to my taste, but VERY close to Crown XR. |
