One of my neighbors sets off a very good, aka totally illegal under state law, fireworks show for every federal holiday, last night's show went on for a good 25 minutes. Its pretty surreal when he starts lobbing stuff for Columbus Day.
It really should be called 'Enjoy one last day of summer before you work your ass off all winter' Day. Kharn |

Lol, sounds like someone has to work!
I'm a contractor and for the past 2 weeks I've been busting my hump in the hot fucking sun getting a foundation ready to pour. God damned right I'm gonna "celebrate" labor day. I'm the god damned labor. Right now, I'm sitting in my office/spare bedroom with the AC on, drinking iced tea. Later, going over to my parents for a family BBQ. I'm enjoying every minute because tomorrow its back in the hot sun. ETA: It may have started as a union holiday but now I look at it as a recognition of everybody that works hard for a living. |
