Does anyone have any photo of "pimped" AR15's?  You know, chrome or gold plated, wild decoration, etc.?

If the gun is chrome plated do we still have to ask if it has a chrome lined barrel

I was just thinking of doing something like this with a Nodak upper and lower set; buy then in the white, then have them blued, slong with all metal parts and then get a set of wood furniture from IWD; probably embed an NRA Medallion I have of the M16 and have a very nice display M16A1...

Just an idea.

Not my kinda thing at all, but if I just had to have one, it'd be a commemorative model like this:

I really hate to go off topic, but anyone have the link to the e-mail of the guy asking for special weapons where another guy responded with some smart ass reply like tactical forks and Sprite bottles (or something of that sort)?

I think those types of guns are interesting.  However, I would never own one because:

-I wouldn't shoot it.  Too much to clean, for SHTF it stands out like a sore thumb, expensive to replace parts and have them re-dipped/plated.  The exception to this would be if I was a millionaire, and could afford to have a tricked out plinker plated in gold just because.

-I wouldn't showcase it.  It would seem cool to have hanging on the wall or in a glass cabinet, but that (IMO) goes against firearms safety.  I will never leave a gun out of a safe unattended, and no point in having a nice looking gun hiding in a dark safe all the time.

That is a pointed response to Mayor Bloomberg banning camouflage gun paint in NYC, by Lauer.

Couldn't tell you, but I saw a chromed AR lower at the gunshow this weekend, which would make it seem like thats a yes.

Yup and so can plastic!

I had a neighbor who loved to blow money and he found a company that would chrome plate a bunch of plastic/abs parts on his motorcycle. They came out pretty good, too. That leads me to believe you can chrome plate almost anything with the proper process.
