I just came here to point out to you idiots that my personal opinions and tastes are superior to yours in every way.

The first full decade of rap...hopefully this will be the last full decade of rap...well, maybe the next one.
OK, I'll qualify that...any rap after Debbie Harry/Blondie and Sir Mixalot. |

I have to say 2000-now. Everything has gone down hill. Most of the rock is depressing or driven by the base, teenage tough guy angst, (remember when they used to rock out about partying and banging women?); top 40 pop involves no talent or ability to preform, just some teenager dancer with some autotuned vocal; and hip hop is no longer edgy and clever (2pac and NWA vs a bunch of rich retards mumbling about cash). |

I say, unequivically, the 1980s. I can't think of a single thing released in the 1980s that I enjoy, other than Faith No More's "The Real Thing" which was released in 1989 and helped kill wretched '80s rock. You dont like Metallica or Guns and Roses? NO Lean forward and choke yourself! |

I predict everyone will say the "best" decade for music just happened to be the one(s) they were young and stupid in.

For pop music? The 1990s. However, there has always been good music. You just have to look for it. |

Quoted: All you guys saying the '80s can go suck a big fat one. 80's, and pass on the suckage, but I appreciate the offer. |

Absolutely 2000-2010.
'70s: Pretty good stuff '80s: Really good stuff '90s: Some good stuff mixed in with a bunch of crap '00s: Was there any good stuff at all? |
|
Quoted: 2000's. The music industry isn't even set up to allow/create a "Journey" or some other epic, supported, cherished type of band/act. They have intentionally created an audience with a microscopic attention span, now reap the benefits you a-holes. I agree there will very very few if any "legendary" acts coming out of this decade by that I mean bands that will be touring and filling stadiums 20+ years from now |

Quoted: "Grunge" ruined everything. Grunge and rap ruined music. Although music is a continuum with no clear demarcations, in general... 60's were good. 70's great. 80's TOTALLY ROCKED! 90's were dogshit 00's sucked dogshit. |

I like everything from the 60s through to the early 2000s. the new bullshit they play is
painful to listen to. |

Everything before the 70's. Weird Al started his career in the late 70's so music has been great for me ever since.

Without a doubt. This country went to shit after Y2K. Music included. +1 +2 |

We are currently living in it. Worst music ever and the 90's wasn't much better.

I was going to vote 1970s, but then I realized 2000-2010 was an option.

Quoted: the 2000s no question This Rap and Hip Hop ruined popular music. 1977-1984 is my second choice primarily because of Disco. Disco sucked then and it sucks now. |

Some of the best music of all time was made in the 80's. AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, KISS, QUEEN, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Judas Preist, Matallica I could go on and on and on. This decade and century has yet to produce any redeeming music. |

I would have to say the 90's, if you guys think about some of the abortions of bands and one hit wonders that came out, it was fucking horrid. Grunge can die in a fire. I believe that was the 90's but I could easily be rong. I guess I should have quoted: Quoted:

Son, Drop the crack pipe and shut your cakehole. The '80's were an awesome decade for music. The WORST....TWO decades for music in general have been 1990-2010. I listen to 5 chanels on Serius...'60's on 6, 70's on &, 80's on 8...Classic Vinyl and Classic Rewind. That's all I can stand.... |

The 70s because of Disco, and the 80s. BTW, I can't think of 1 good thing about the 70s Dude I'm looking at my Time Life AM Gold 70's collection right now(no really) and the 70's were cool with songs like.......You don't mess around with Jim,A horse with no name,Bad Bad Leroy Brown, and many others. Well you could have a point. They seem to have the Ghey ,but when I was a kid all we had was AM radio and those were the hits and they were great. (Every body had AM there was no FM stations at that time) Some of the disco stuff was really good....and some of it was just God awefull. |

After the worldwide all-time musical CLIMAX during the 80's, it started going steadily downhill from there.
