As some of you may know, many airline pilots now want to carry/keep a handgun onboard. I myself believe this is an excellent idea. It would be a great deterrent to terrorists who know the pilot has a weapon, and has been trained to use it.

Please, if you believe in arming your pilots, drop by and show your support. The petition closes April 28, so dont delay. It's time we did more to protect our airways. We cant rely ONLY on baggage checks and screening to keep us safe.

I got these from a post on a group I read......

"I obviously signed and left a comment, but to take it a step further, I went over to a friends house, (This friend does internet advertising), and talked him into running the link thru a mass mail router. We sat there having coffee and talking and watched the server upload to around 18,000 mailboxes, he told me the system will do this every hour for a 24 hour cycle. Somewhere around 500,000 emails. That petition gets handed over in May, it needs to have more than just pilots listed on it.(When I signed it, pilots were the majority of those listed.

"How many lives could have been saved with armed pilots, better yet CCW passengers."

"Since I signed it yesterday it has gone from about 1900 to now over 4100. The site is real busy, even with a DSL connection I had a little wait. Keep it up and we may win one. Still say a pilot with a pistol is a hell of a lot better than shooting down the plane."
