I always keep a pile of unread books on the nightstand, and almost every night I read a bit before turning in.  Since Oprah has discontinued her book club, I think I'll start mine here on ar15.com. [:)]

I just finished "Into The Storm : A U.S. Marine in the Persian Gulf War" by Philip Thompson.  Very good read.  Thompson was a captain in an artillery unit during the war.  Lots of interesting insights into the small things of the war, which none of us watching CNN ever saw.

Next one up is "Don't Shoot the Bastards (Yet)" by Claire Wolfe.  Ms Wolfe is famous for the quote (concerning government) "America is at that awkward stage.  It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards."

Check 'em out.

My 2 suggestions:

Guerillas In The Mist: A Battlefield Guide to Clandestine Warfare by Bob Newman, Foreward by Robert K. Brown

Killing Zone: A Professional's Guide to Preparing or Preventing Ambushes by Gary Stubblefield and Mark Monday

"The Lion's Game"
Nelson DeMille

Story of a child who lost his family during the 1986 bombing of Qadhafi's compound who has grown up with a hate for Americans and the pilots on the bombing run.  He travels to America, and after a strikingly terrible arrival, hunts the pilots and crew.

Very funny smart-ass ex-NYPD cop and a beautiful FBI agent work to stop the murders.
