Just curious, does this mean that Prince Charles will be promoted to the title of King of England, or is he not next on list in order? ....fullclip

Were you related to her?  Friends perhaps?  Did you admire her work, did her existence enrich yours?

She was a nice old lady who did a lot for her country, especially during WWII.  Worth a lot more than a "BFD" (and the people thinking that), that's for sure.

No but, I hope you don't ever post the passing of your grandmother on here.

Pure class.  I'll feel the same when Reagan goes.  Aside of Maggie Thatcher, there's not many politicians I respect anymore.

Oh, so there's some times when it's Ok to be a smartass, and there's other times when it's not OK to be a smartass?

Ya know I heard that when Mother Theresa died, she owned two pair of shoes.  Amazing, that!

A decent and admirable human and Lady has passed.

Even more lamentable is that some would use the occasion to jest.

Maybe nothing, even the death of a a respected fellow human, is out of bounds nowadays.

If so, we, as a civilization have lost far more than just an individual.  We, perhaps, have lost our respect for life.

And perhaps lost our souls.

For SHAME!

You gotta admire Mr. Bean. That show is good for a laugh.

Oh ya I forgot about Rowan Atkinson. The sketch he did about Mr. Bean meeting the queen was damn funny.

Amongst other reasons, I believe she was well respected was that her husband George Vl was not in line for the throne – the Duke of Wndsor was raised to become king – they were knid of dropped in it. Three years after came WW2.

Throughout the Blitz she and her husband refused to leave Buckingham Palace, despite the fact that it was an easy target. Something like GWB refusing to be scared out of the White House under the same circumstances.

Nowadays, we might regard that as stupid, but, in 1939 it was seen for what it was – a symbol of defiance by a nation that was facing the greatest evil of the last century against overwhelming odds.

I assume that the smart-assed comments on this thread can only be the result of ignorance. If not, then I can only imagine that they are merely a bunch of f*cking assholes!
