The drone flies over and shoots its aero load all over the stressed faces of the Russian soldiers. As the Molotov breaks downward through their teeth, the glass shatters from the strain, flames explode, and their lungs blow out through their assholes as the hoop stress limits of their sphincters are reached.

Nowhere to fly to, most countries aren't allow Russian flagged jets in their air space.  And the leased ones are getting put on the repo list.

Russia-Ukraine: Putin enlists 16,000 Middle Eastern mercenaries for war

Russia-Ukraine: Putin enlists 16,000 Middle Eastern mercenaries for war

Russia-Ukraine: Vladimir Putin's move allows Russia to deploy battle-hardened mercenaries from conflicts such as Syria in Ukraine without risking additional Russian military casualties. Putin has also asked his defense minister to prepare plans for possible fortification of Russia's western border in response to NATO troop movement in eastern Europe. It will double down on the brutal invasion that the West says has been losing momentum, as Russian troops continue their offensive toward Ukrainian capital Kyiv from the northwest and east.

For pretty much the entirety of post-WW2 history, the US has been the world's policeman. In the last 20 years, the Europeans have done nothing but snipe at US foreign policy while doing nothing of their own to contribute to solutions. China ascending in the East. The biggest issue is that, by far, no one has ever taken on a major world power over something like this. The US has taken on smaller foes like Korea, Vietnam, the Middle East, etc. and we've had help but for the most part we were the driving force.

Now, it seems like our appetite for getting involved in foreign conflicts has waned. I'm not saying it's gone, and I'm sure we would step up in dire need for righteous intervention, but I'm wondering if we're tired of the burden after so long. The entire time, Europe has been happy to live under the umbrella of protection that the US has been providing. They think war is icky and all too happy to sneer at us. In one fell swoop, they've had to reconsider their presence on the world stage as well as they have come to the realization that you can try to talk your way out of a war all you want, but sometimes it comes for you no matter what.

And think of the corporations. They would sell their children to make a profit. We can go over countless examples of how they've ignored everything the Chinese have been doing and grovel at the feet of Xi Jingpin. Even they have stopped doing business with the Russians. Now there is certainly a debate to be had about how companies can shut down people they don't like, but that's a different conversation. Fact is: During the cold war, no American company would denigrate themselves to do business with the Soviets, yet we're doing just that with the Chinese. It might just serve as a wake-up call to the Chinese that the willingness of western companies to prostitute themselves for economic gain has limits too.

Everything seems to have changed with this conflict. Maybe some of my prognoses are wrong and we'll be back to the same old way of doing things, but I do think at least some of the radical change is going to stick.

As shitty as this is,and my God is it ever,it validates our opinion of Putin that the US and Western Europe has ignored. It also forces a bunch of countries to stop feeding the mobsters.

The scary part is not knowing if Putin is the spoiled child who flips over the Monopoly board and runs away crying how he was cheated. I have no idea how the world returns to business as usual with him, even though I’m certain plenty of Germans really want to.

It isn't a voluntary grounding.
1) Sabre closed shop in Russia. They are responsible for scheduling flights for just about every carrier.
2) They can't fly anywhere except china, india, and maybe ten places that nobody wants to go.
3) When they got there, their aircraft would be repossessed (They are leased)

"If gas prices go up another $1, the entire US economy will collapse" ...because the average person paying maybe $1k a year more in gasoline is the difference, apparently.

Meanwhile, in Russia, the meteor has HIT. Their currency has lost nearly all its value, they're disconnected from international banking systems, their goods can no longer be sold in most of the world, and most of the world is no longer willing to sell them anything. They are good and properly fucked on a multi-generational level. The Great Depression was a minor, industry-specific slump compared to what the Russians are about to go through. It's going to take a bit for the poison to sink in to their economy, but a fatal dose has been administered.
And this doesn't get reversed in a week, recovery will take decades. They are going to lose a generation of progress.
A question I came up with this morning is whether removing sanctions is a part of the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia.  It seems that Russia would have much, much less incentive to give Ukraine a decent deal to achieve peace if all of the sanctions will remain in place after a peace deal is reached.

Lol that's not even a question. Sanctions are there and will be for a long time. No matter what Ukraine agrees with Russia. They will feel the pain of this for decades. Russia has been set back several decades if not more and have been set on pause. For the fact alone to cross the border. It's done and over with. There is no fixing the damage done to Russia which is frigging huge. People are having a hard time understanding this. What putin has given up and has done to his own country for what?? Nazis??? Hahahaha biolabs??? Wtf!?!?.. we nuclear bombed the fuck out of there economy..why are people not realizing that?? They are fucked. And honestly I'm alittle suprised putin hasn't withdrawn. But his pride and ego won't let him.. his only choice now is to nuke the rest of the world to set us all back to the stone age like they are now or bite the bullet and take it alone..ask yourself what do you think putin will do?
I think you may be right, which is terrifying.

Fuck yes it is! It's very real and very terrifying to think what putin will do and this isn't even done from getting worse for him. The longer this goes the farther he hurts his country and the more we will put sanctions and more damage upon Russia until the day comes he says fuck it if I'm going down we are all going down.

It would be a much easier sell to remove sanctions sooner than later if we were negotiating with a different Russian government. Under Putin it is a non-starter. This whole escapade has made him persona-non grata. How can anyone take him and his government seriously after the months of bold faced lies, even during a UN security meeting while Putin had a speech airing declaring a "special military operation". It is ridiculous.

Fully occupied is in reference to planes, not people/passengers.

Airports are very rarely at max capacity.  Planes land, unload, load up, and leave, rinse repeat...they don't stay.  It's like an orchestra to keep a busy international airport moving almost 24/7.

For there to be that many planes on the ground parked, it means no flights are departing and the airport is effectively shuttered.

This is chess not checkers. If we hit Belarus then in their eyes we’ve given them the green light and that it’s fair game hit Poland.

Right now the situation is Russia is the bad guy, deserving of the sanctions and isolation and ass-kicking etc etc. Now if either were to get hit there’d be no putting that genie back in the bottle and this becomes a much wider reaching, much less predictable situation with far more dangerous and longer lasting combat, repercussions and unintended consequences

The recipe for the self-igniting paper wrap can be found in the Improvised Munitions T-M.

Likely in the Anarchist's Cookbook as well.  Potassium Permangenate?  I forget,  but it is easy to make from bleach and something else common.  Just rubberband the paper around the bottle.

Looks like the US is getting involved on some level.

Just saw that the US is trying to recruit military interpreters that speak Ukrainian, Polish, Romanian but must be US citizens that can pass security clearance and train at Ft Bragg.  Very interesting that a Ukrainian is posting this request here.  She's my crazy ex so I'm not sure how reliable her information is but saying they need at least 30 folks now.

There is no way they can get off that train now. That trigger has been pulled and the bullet flown. They have been set back to the stone age.  No matter what happens to Ukraine. The only way out I see is Putin's removal/death.  Otherwise Russians will suffer for a very long time.  Maybe that's me wishful thinking since I'm around so much negativity about killing Russians now.
