I’m not buying at more than 20 CPR and I’m not loading it for more than 10 CPR. Probably not buying any for a while....

I truly believe that the only way I'll be acquiring anymore ammo in the immediate future will be by stripping the dead of theirs.

Doesn't matter, not buying ammo right now. I got enough to get by and not going to be scammed, price gouged, or ripped off. Stopped shooting ammo and training with a laser. Batteries are cheaper and no shortage. Stocked up on them too.

$20. I was buying it up to that point at the range instead of using stash. Now its $35, nope. I'll wait.
I'm not that deep on pistol. Plenty of rifle which is all I really need. |

Does anyone think $35 + isn't gonna be new norm ?
Yes,, I lived thru the Sandy Hook .22lr fiasco, it took years to get back to decent pricing and specialty .22 took longer. My concern is new admin is already fucking shit up at a blinding pace. And when there are hot mics that show sleepy Joe doesn't even know what EO he is signing is alarming. |
|
depends how badly i need it. if it wasn't for the unfortunate boating accident id have plenty for several years.

|
I'd buy a case for $400 max right now. Not desperate but you can never have too much ammo
I was able to score 1500 rounds at an average of 0.30 right before the election. |
|
I expect to not buy 9mm for a long time. 2-3 years.
I'll be buying 5.56 when it gets back down to ~.40cpr for Federal/IMI/LC 193, but I realize that it will likely be over a year on that. Maybe two years. I'm shooting only .22 going forward, with the rare exception of sighting in a rifle, or if I feel like I need trigger time with my carry gun. My 5.56 rifles are cleaned and ready to sit for a while. |
|
LGS had a case of 500 rounds come in. Was selling it for 24.99 a box of 50. One box per customer. Sold out rather quickly. I'm good for now. But, I don't expect to be shooting anything other than .22 for awhile.

Well beyond what I’ll pay. Well beyond. I’m reloading a hundred a week so I can keep shooting. I can do that for a long time

Quoted: .30 View Quote That turned out to be the actual answer for me during this mess. My price had been around 16cpr delivered before Covid, for brass-cased FMJ, 124gr preferably. And I stocked up on enough to allow me to target shoot for years without worrying about panics, so I leaned back when this panic started to heat up, but I'll admit I did jump when I saw a case of federal premium 115gr for 30cpr delivered a couple months ago. I don't expect to see that price again for a long time...but I'd probably jump again if I did, for decent quality FMJ, if only to give it to a friend. |

9mm? $15 is max for range plinking ammo I'm stocking it when I see under $10/box
|

Buying and shooting @ 20¢, selling (not all)@ 70¢, holding in between.
5.56 is 30/80 22lr is 5/12 |

There were days people would laugh at me for buying 9mm at 8.88 for perfecta.
“You can’t reload it” “It’s not any good” “Dirty ammo” “My gun I only fire once every 25 years hates it” “I can reload my own for .05 cents a rd” “I’ll wait until they clearance it” “Made by Russian slave labor in a Siberian gulag” Now I laugh. |
|
Not planming to buy ammo any time soon. I dont have time to shoot now anyway.
|
|
I bought a box for 51 CPR the other day. They had a two box limit but I only got one.

Buy what you can with any spare money.
Think of Bitcoin when people talked about how silly it was to spend $500 on a virtual coin..... |

View Quote Why would people laugh? Its reloadable. ??? I bought tons of it, I loved it because it was underpowered, and so I used it for competitions. The softest shooting 115gr 9mm I have ever fired. The problem is I shot it all up. Only have a few boxes left. It is inconsistent, however. Every once in a while I get one with WAY more pop. It might be positional sensitive or just lower on the QC, I don't know. But I never had a malfunction. |

My glocks would run it no problem. Never had an issue. |

At this point in history ammunition purchases should be driven by need, not price point.
Price point left town on a train a year ago for anyone noticing. |
|
I stocked up on .300 and 5.56 but dropped the ball on 9mm range ammo. I've been shooting the last few weekends so im now down to ~750 fmj rounds, but I do have ~1200 HSTs.
I will probably end up trading out some of the excess 300, 5.56, or maybe a little of the HSTs for some 9mm ball in the near future. |

Blasting ammo, $.30 or less.
Hornady Critical Duty, don't really care. |
