I'm playing around with a bang good eleksmaker 500mw loaner. Just got my computer talking to it tonight.

Guy on youtube, Tech2C , put a 2.5W head on his 3d printer, cuts balsa like nothing, which is what I would use it for.  $70 for the laser.  A steal.

Would make making parts for balsa flying airplane models a snap.   I usually hand cut parts for old plans such as I get from here:
