Neither Vega brother made the list.
Come on.
"Man" from Bambi was #20.

LOL, yea I know.

I posted it just as info on what others thought.

My pick would be Ralph Fiennes character in Schindler's List.

Now that's a good one. All of the others were more like the likable bad guys that you almost cheer for.
This character was one of the ones where he's so vile you can't wait to see the good guy whip his ass.

I pick best movie bad guys based on their ability to be so bad you can't wait to see them get theirs whether it be a wicked ass beating, killed, arrested, etc. If it's a bad guy I actually like and am rooting for like DeNiro in Heat I don't even consider him a bad guy.

Here's my list.

- The Warden Norton in Shawshank Redemption.
- Grima Wormtongue in the LOTR: TTT (Brad Dourif doesn't get his proprs for always doing a pretty good bad guy)
- John Doe from Se7en
- Cameron Alexander from American History X
- Roark Jr./Yellow Bastard and Kevin from Sin City
- SSG Bob Barnes from Platoon
- Commodus from Gladiator

Al Pacino, Devils Advocate.  Debate is now closed.

But does Steve Buscemi's character really count?  Garland Greene might have been a Hannibal Lector type wackjob serial killer but wasn't really a "villian" in the movie.  He didn't assist the bad guys in any way, didn't rat out Nick Cage's character for killing Billy Bedlam in the cargo hold......

A few to throw out there:

Mel Gibson in Payback (Get ready to root for the bad guy)
Ben Affleck in Mallrats AND Dazed and Confused (plays a perfect asshole in both)
Ed Harris in The Rock
+1 for Jason Isaacs in The Patriot
Almost any villain in any James Bond movie
John Travolta in Broken Arrow
Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men
Joaquin Phoenix in Gladiator
Andy Garcia in Ocean's Eleven

I believe that was David Prowse in the Darth Vader suit.

My vote would be Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner.   He stole the movie from Harrison Ford.

He also did a very good "bad guy" job in The Hitcher and Nighthawks

Other than Ladyhawke, has he ever played a good guy?

IIRC he's played the good guy in some straight to cable/video stuff.  Also "Wanted Dead Or Alive" & "Blind Fury".

How about Harvey Keitel as the cleaner in Point of No Return?
I hear he was a real bastage in Bad Lieutenant... I still need to see that one.

Great comedic bad guy: Dennis Farina ....  Ray 'Bones' Barboni from Get Shorty.

Likeably evil bag guy: Christopher Walken ....  Vincenzo Coccotti from True Romance

James Gandolfini does a pretty good bad guy. True Romance, 8mm, Sopranos.
