The Tundra is one of the absolutely most reliable and comfortable trucks, period.
I would buy one before any other truck.
My father bought a 2001 model in late 2000. Other than routine maintenance, it has been perfect.
Correction: It had the O2 sensor problem, but that's been completely repaired at Toyota's expense
under the recall they voluntarily issued on this problem. Toyota handled it at no charge on
a vehicle that was WELL OUT OF WARRANTY. Can you say "I am a loyal customer! "
There's no way in hell I'd get a Ford. The company I work for has two Ford trucks that we use for
making deliveries throughout the county on a daily basis. I've made many deliveries in them myself.
They BOTH are problem vehicles. The new one has maybe 18,000 miles on it and has already eaten
its front tires to the belts and the rear tires, all four of them, are down to the tread wear indicators.
The alignment checks out.
The older one (just a few years old) has snapped its driveshaft mounting bolts TWICE and dumped
both driveshafts on the ground each time. It has had transmissions rebuilt and has had new
transmissions installed as well, and they ALWAYS break again. (Manual tranny)
Fords are total pieces of shit. You'd have to be (censored so as not to directly piss off a fellow forum member or two) to want one.
First choice: Toyota.
Last choice: Ford.
I'd rather push a Toyota than drive a Ford, but it's far, FAR more likely that it's the Ford that needs pushing.
