I gotta do some engine work on my poor Sprint....
I could go engine (high heat paint) BUT the replacement engine is already complete. Thinking I want to cover up the aluminum and give it some color that does not show crud as bad as bare or black. Red maybe? Being it is British and all. Maybe I can just put a mural of Charlie Boorman on the engine case and call it good

I wouldnt.
Dipped my wheels awhile back and stuff loves to stick to dip in my experience. The softer surface hardness just makes it that much easier shit to imbed, ding, tear the paint whenever you try to clean the paint. I had to be lretty careful cleaning my wheels(used color shifting chameleon). It looms okay when clean but does get dirty. For what you want to do i would say strip the thing and do engine paint enamel or powder coat. I want to get into dipping entire cars but I have no illusions of it being long lasting and it is price you pay for having a removable finish. |
