Sirius is pushing the envelope and not censoring themselves like XM.   I believe their gutsy measures will pay off.

Personally, I gave up on both of 'em and now just listen to podcasts.

I think you're about 18 months too late to make the big money from these stocks.

Sirius is projected to go to around 10 by the end of the year, and 20 or 30 within the next 5 years. So buying it now would make you some money.

I bought into serious when it was .50 cents and but I bought the majority of my shares at 5 dollars. There is still potential to earn a profit no matter what the media says about it.

I cant see xms stock price rising any time in the near future - at least not significantly.

A friend of mine has XM and from what I have heard,  I like it.  I heard rumor that Sirius is losing and may sell.  But it was just a rumor.

I consider Sirius a cult stock- good for a trade if not an investment. I bought some at 6 several months ago, sold at just under 9 a short time later and had intended to re purchase around 4, but didn't pull the trigger when it did pull back. At this point I think there is about $2 downside and $2 up, but the momentum types can goose it pretty good if it starts to take off.

In the standard arfcom tradition....both! (I own both, but a much larger position in XMSR)

I bought a pile of XM in the sub-$3 range and Sirius for about $2.

Both companies will prosper over the long run, but I feel that SIRI does some dumb deals.

XMSR will be CFBE in 2006

Why bother?

It's not really worth it.

My mom's TrailBlazer has the 3 months of XM.

We don't listen to it.

Also I heard that XM has a *cough* relationship* with Clear Channel(ugh)

I don't think it sucks...I just don't like the idea of "paying" for radio.  XM really isn't "commercial-free" either.

XM had a 3 year head start on Sirius, so to compare subscriber numbers at this point wouldn't be fair.

Instead, it would be interesting to see the growth in subscribers for both companies.

I don't even like Howard Stern, but I'm sure the race will heat up once Stern starts broadcasting in January of '06.  Somebody out there thinks he's worth 500 million dollars over 5 years, and I'm sure thats for a very good reason.

I see many more cars coming in with Sirus at work than I do XM. XM came out first and they have some catching up to do in my region.

I wouldn't say it completely sucks, but why would you pay for radio when you can get it for free?

And for example, they have programs you can get on the non-satelite network.

Example: Air America.

XM is years ahead, true. But Sirius has a contract with the NFL  (XM has MLB but not NFL).
Also, Sirius gives the option of paying a one time $499.00 fee to have it FOREVER.

In the long term, I think they will both merge somehow because XM needs to get a hold of the NFL listeners.

I say you can't go wrong buying either, so buy the cheaper stock and hold on!

why does either *need* the NFL?

how many people are really interested in listening to games on the radio? It's not 1952 anymore
