My Elan 7E sat for about 4 months before I got it. When I got it back she worked fine but now whenever I turn here one, I get a low batter warning and she wont do anything. I tried fresh batteries, even brand new surefire batteries but she wont change.

Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my Elan II when I first got it.

Ended up taking the batteries out and letting it sit for about a month, then putting a battery in.  Never had any other problems with it, so whatever was wrong, apparently that fixed it.

Use a pencil eraser to clean the battery contacts in the camera body off then use your new battery.
