Are the refubs worth it? Looking at getting a AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR lenses for my mom for Christmas. Also see that both the new(at $300 more) and the rerun don’t offer any extended warranties.

Yes. My D7200 and a couple of lenses are factory refurbs. They are good to go!
