Compared to its giant hype... It was a huge let down.
There are a number of things that could have been fixed or made to a better standard. |

I wouldn't say it sucked. It was a letdown, but I still enjoyed playing it and might even pick up a used copy.

Start at one end of huge map...go to other end of huge map...repeat until the end.
I was disappointed it wasn't like the first but all in all it's not to bad. I'm on the second trip through but can only play so long and i get bored. Be sure to save when you can because there are a lot of spots you can get stuck in when looking for diamonds. |

Pretty good eye candy, rotten scripted game play. The single most repetitive thing I've played since Diablo.

after playing for a while, I have to agree.
If they improve on where they messed up, I could see a Far Cry 3 being great. |

I like that it has an MP5-SD and it doesn't have the fake Hollywood "pew" sound, but it got repetitive too fast.

Positives: One of the most polished games I've ever played. No crashes, no clipping, no glitches, no patches needed. Very beautiful maps, fully detailed and realized Tons of cool real world weapons, and armories to store them in Realistic wildfires Negatives: Incredibly repetitive Storyline did not draw me in at all Constant malaria sickness was irritating Checkpoints constantly reinforced after you've already cleared them |

well is 5 bucks worth 5 hours or more of fun?
I'd do it. I liked it for a while I got to the 2nd level/map before I got bored sniping people. Like was said the game ran perfect and looked awesome, although I compare it to GTA:Africa steal car have running gun battle your car is fucked so take their car then repete at the next checkpoint. Crysis and FC1 are way better. |

I thought it was great fun.
Make sure you take the bus at every opportunity. Skips a lot of driving. The suppressed makarov is great for stealthing into enemy camps and checkpoints. Think of the game as a long series of tactical exercises, in which you can use as heavy or as quiet a weapon as you want, with explosives, vehicles, and fire to mix things up a little. The main problem is that the story is utterly vile. There isn't a shred of redeeming morality anywhere in it. It makes GTA look like a disney movie. |
