Welcome to the new thread all!
2018 was a great year for us that brought new members and new PR's from returning members. The rules are simple: Just pick a mileage goal (1,000 is just 19.23 per week) and post your daily and total mileage. Feel free to ask your running questions here, there's a lot of experience in this group. We also have Garmin Connect & Strava groups you can join to follow along with as well. Best of luck to us all! |

I might want to do this. weather, at the moment, is the largest obstacle. |

Pace for the 5k was 37.23. Figured I would give a baseline and every so often race against that time. Started 3 minutes walk (4.7) 3 minutes run (5.5) then at 36 minutes 2 minutes walk and finish with 2 minutes run. Making good sweat angels. |

I’ll give it another shot this year. Fell short last year

In for the motivation if nothing else. I won't make 1,000 since I'm also doing the rowing challenge, but I'll be happy to hit 500 here and 750 there

I originally signed up for the 2018 after participating and running 1500 miles in 2017. Turns out I was burned out and fell way out of love with running for a long time. I can't even remember the last time I synced my watch to upload, but I'd be shocked if I ran more than 300-400 miles in 2018. I'm in again for this one and 1000 would be nice, but my #1 goal is to just enjoy running again. Helping a buddy complete his first half in Feb and other than that I think I'm going to refrain from racing anything over a 10k this year.

4.5 / 4.5
I'm taking a bit more time off to recover - I've got to kick this infection and get the antibiotics out of my system as well before running will be enjoyable again. Going to put a goal of 3,120 miles for the year out there. I really think it will be doable, but starting off the year like this will certainly result in a hole to dig out of. |
|
From the running I’ve seen you do last year, that should be no issue for you Keen!
I’m going to throw the 1000 mile goal out there for me, along with completing a half in under 1:50, a full marathon and an ultra (50k or more). With me hopefully getting a job and buying a house, not sure exactly how much running I’ll get in. Can’t wait to see what the year has in store for everyone |

I'm in. Happy New Year everyone. Fell short of my 2000 mile goal last year, so I'm going to back it off a bit and shoot for just a few more than 2018. I have three marathons planned for 19 and should easily get over 1800 miles if I properly train for all three. |

If I ran that much I would look like starvin Marvin. I run around a 13:30 2 mile and a 36 minute 5 mile with minimal maintenance.
I am going to lift big and heavy this year and try to add 10 lbs of muscle. Best of luck to you guys running 20 miles per week. I will be checking in here to see your progress! |

If I told you my height & weight you'd likely think I'm a twig, but aside from being taller I wouldn't look at all out of place in a picture of my grandfather and his buddies from the 40's-50's. |

Sat around the heliport all day kicking rocks and waiting for the fog to lift. They finally released us and the hotel gym sucks. I grabbed a mile on a busy road and called it good.

I'm going to join in on this. 1k is going to be a real challenge, so that's why I'm going to do it. Last year I couldn't run more than 1.5 miles without about dying during PT tests. I got a whole new mindset about a year ago. I do weight training and run now, but running is something I hate and, therefore, should really push.
So here goes nothing. Here's yesterday's, I'll be back out tomorrow morning. 4.34/4.34 |

To those just starting out, look in the 2018 thread on advice from the folks who know what they're doing... Thanks to them I've been injury free for 7 months now. |

I’m in.
I was in last year, but I was pathetic with entering my stats. I was over 1500 miles last year. I’ll try to get better with entering my stats this year. I got 13.5 so far. 8.1 yesterday 5.4 today |

Looking at hitting 2,000 miles this year and have a marathon race in mid April. |

Nice run! I'm jealous of that elevation, we get around 5 feet on a 10 mile run here. Great job getting out there! View Quote |

My on-paper goal for the year is 800. I did 757 last year and had only planned to do 650. I've been averaging 3.2 miles for 21 of the last 22 days; I took Christmas off. I understand that average puts me at the 1K range for the year, but I travel a lot and expect to miss plenty of run days. I do hit the treadmill in the hotel fitness centers when I can; I dislike that less than trying to run through city streets. |

Had to go bowling with the kids and nephews, so I didn't get a start until 21:30. Was great running under the stars. Had a crazy burst of energy on the second half of the run. Another PR.

By coincidence I've been jogging 3 miles per day for the last two weeks.
So, I'm in it for 1000 in a year with 31 days to skip. |
