I know that just a month or 2 ago it was suggested that we do a HTF training event in Camden, but after this thread I dont know. One student shot himself in the foot I'm guessing this happened either yesterday or day before?

Still, none of my classes had a student-to-instructor ratio nearly that high. Also, all but one of the instructors I've been instructed by have departed the company. Possibly a sign? Who knows. I hear rumors of a lot of drama in Camden lately. |

Anytime Yeager is brought up, I love to watch both camps jump into the ring;
The Yeager should be hung from a tree until dead group, and the Yeager's ball sweat is the nectar of the gods group. It also reminds me of this: A couple of bitches fighting it out.... |

I remember a number of years ago the HTF had a shoot out there at that Camden complex. IIRC it wasn't TR back then. Tennessee Firearms Training Center (TFTC) or such. It was a two-day thing. Some people brought NFA shit, others EBR's and AK's. Pretty fun. That was Hank's Great Southern Freedom Shoot. It was a pretty awesome shoot. As I recall, we were neighbors at the Guesthouse Inn. |

Yes, I believe we were! That was what, like 8 or 9 years ago? It was in the fall, right? |

Met a lot of great folks at that shoot. Whatever happened to Pangea? |

We need to get Hank started in planning the 10th annivewrsary GSFS reunion for October 2012. |

I am only to page 5 so far...fucking fantastic read.
So far, I say, Fuck TR. Good job losing a lot of business and a lot more respect. And as far as all these forums and sites telling the OP to be professional, don't spam and "what's your agenda?" Dude deserves to be miffed. He's unsatisfied, refund some money! EDIT: I just made it through...definitely worth every page of hilarity. The ending was the best.
"Yeah...my buddy has balls. He called a nieghbor a racist name." ZZZZLOLZZZZ all around
As for TR...still looks like NOT the business |

Quoted: I'm asking this for the sake of conversation: do any other training schools, ie Rogers, Vickers, Magpul, et al, offer a refund of any sort? Every instructor or training group I've ever attended a class with has either spelled out their refund policy in advance of the class or at the in-brief for the class. These guys are in business based on their reputation and quality of training, so it's important for their students to be happy. |

Are most of the refund policies like TR's or are they fairly liberal in the reasons they will refund for? |

Are most of the refund policies like TR's or are they fairly liberal in the reasons they will refund for? I'll let others chime in here as well, but I've trained with 4-5 different groups throughout the country and all wanted some type of feedback as to why you weren't happy with the class. Some spelled out the timing, i.e. "pull an instructor aside and let us know that you're unhappy." Others specified the daily debrief to be an opportunity to bring up concerns either in front of the group or on a 1:1 basis. One that I'm thinking of asked that your refund request be provided at the end of training in written format with feedback on what you didn't like, but it was still "no questions asked." Some have a policy of no refunds, but you know that going into it. This is particularly true for classes where the instructors are traveling and/or spots in the class are highly sought after. In those cases, you know it going into it. You may lose a deposit, etc. Hope this helps offer some perspective. I've never asked for a refund, so I'm going purely from memory here. |

Tactical Response has had too many bad reviews lately, and too many safety issues.
This one was the icing on the cake for me. I have talked about trying to organize a carbine class for those of us in the West Tennessee area for awhile now at a nearby school. I've put it on hold because of the shitty economy and the fact that alot of us aren't spending alot on training and ammo right now. When the economy finally improves and we re-visit this, I won't even consider TR anymore. For those that are looking for a trainer in West Tennessee, I have heard nothing but good things about these guys from several LE sources and a fellow arfcom'er that has trained extensively with them: Ronin Combat Strategies Disclaimer: I have not trained with and am not affiliated with Ronin. This is just a suggestion for an alternative to TR. |

Wow I had stopped following the thread right before it went completely off the rails.
That was some great....uh.."help" from his buddy. Sheesh.
I did the same. Wow that was nuts and a very unexpected ending. All that being said, if you guys did signup for a class at TR I would have to pass. Its just not worth it. If you are looking at somewhere else let me know! |

Their classes are in W. Memphis.....I would think they're out at T1G W. Memphis PD Range (http://www.roninstrategies.com/index.php?option=com_eventlist&view=eventlist&Itemid=7). So far, it looks good.
25Sept looks good |

low light pistol course next weekend with Ronin, great class to take, but like said above these guys are professionals. Never heard a negative review from anyone who has taken a class. I keep a poster up at the shop and point to it when anyone asks.
In the interest of disclosure I train with them as much as possible. |
I'm guessing this happened either yesterday or day before?
