The biggest differences between Washington and Los Angeles were the amazing amount of resturants up in Seattle (I lived in Everett and Bremerton for a bit more than three years) - and they're all the same chain places block after block.
Another difference was the women who tended to be ah, well, different up there. I'll let you see if you notice the physical difference in the breed.
There also aren't little tiny 100 square foot coffee shacks on the corners.
Where we have weeds growing you have 50 foot pine trees.
In Washington when the speed limit says 65 you go 70, here in Los Angeles you do either 15-25 mph or whatever you feel like and can handle (80-90 mph average) traffic depending.
In Washington when it doesn't rain Seattle will have like 10 car accidents a day, when it rains they'll have 12. In Los Angeles we'll have 150 accidents on a sunny day and 15,000 on a rainy one.
I like the roads in California as they all have cat's eyes either down the center or down the center and along both sides making it easier to find the roads.
Washington is one of the better states I lived in with road sign giving directions to destinations - other states don't bother to point out things like hosipitals, airports ...
The homeless in Seattle were pretty aggressive. The ones along Skid Roe here are deadly.
Seattle thinks they have bad traffic ... until you see what Los Angeles has (half of the busiest freeways in the country).
In Seattle the illegals are from Canada and work. The ones down here are from Mexico and most of South and Central America and don't.
In Everett we had like 20-25 golden sunshine days a year. Here I get 20-25 days with cloud cover and a few a year of rain.
Another problem I ran into is that everything west of the Soquamie (spelling?) pass was private property or park - here you've got to drive a bit out of LA and you can find thousands of square miles of public shooting property.
ETA: Rust - the state past time of Washington, we don't do it down here. Look at the older cars here compared to the ones up there.
I miss the trees - even the rain! - I miss the guys shooting at the GF pit, shooting with Tweak down in the Olympic Forest. I do enjoy the ability down here to shoot 600-1000 yards across hundreds of square miles of BLM property - I was challenged to find 80 yard shots in the forest of Washington. I like going camping 12 months a year without having to plan my way around snow and rain. I like the Disneyland, Sea World, Knotts Berry Farm, and three or four other adventure parks here. I miss the CCW permit but carry anyways down here just as much, if not more up here. The WA CCW permit wasn't valid on the Navy bases I worked at.
