Not sure if others have mentioned this but the Aimpoint flip cover 12224 fits perfectly on the RH25 V2 and it has a much lower profile and a snugger fit than the Butler Creek cap 02A.

I also replaced the two tall factory housing screws, which the factory lense cap is retained by.

The screws are M2.5 x 0.45mm pitch, 8mm long.  McMaster Carr part number 91290A102

Would it be the same for the V1?  (the cover, not the screws)

Thank you sir!  Outfitting an RL25 now also, will report on how it fits on there also. The RL is the "little brother" that often gets overlooked. I've been using mine a lot and been very happy with it.

Went through my box of misc. crap trying to find a flip cap for the eyepiece and don't have the right size. Anyone know the right size for a Butler creek flip cap for the eyepiece?

Also, seems there is options of Aimpoint flip covers with ARD. Wonder which one would be equivalent size? Never used an ARD on a thermal but have read that they are out there- some place in Canada offers one.
Would be awesome if a flip cap option with ARD existed.

On the factory iray weapons mount it is spring loaded to prevent shock from being transferred to the thermal. On the ADM mount, based on the pictures I see online it does not seem to preserve this feature. Should I be worried about this shock mount not being on the ADM mount?

A lot of people are using solid (non-dampened) mounts and reporting no major issues. I'm sure it has it's limitations with certain calibers.

The factory mount is only necessary for heavy recoil. hard mount should be fine for up to 308.

Hmmm, When I bought my RH25 they said it was rated up to 308 which I assume was with the factory mount since I did not get a ADM mount at the time.

So I'm assuming that's with the sliding mount. And plenty of people have reported using the RH25 with the ADM hard mount with 308 with no issues.

Confirm hitting the 3 buttons for reticle toggle from the menu screen?  That works for me.

Yeah, it's an ADM IRay collab.

But 2.05" height seems... specific. But I don't know of any optic mounting height that is 2.05".

It seems like this was just how tall it ended up being and they went with it as if it was an intentional design feature, despite not matching any common optic mounting heights.

They probably made it that height to work with different height mounts like 1.93 and 2.26 inch centerline.

Seems like it would be almost a quarter of an inch lower, no? Unity is 2.26"

ETA: I mean, yeah, I'm sure you can see through it, but it's not really aligned, so if you switch between guns, it's guaranteed to need its zero adjusted.

Have any of you tried using the Chineseum NON flip OASYS dovetail?

It lines up with my little ACOG in the factory Trijicon M16 thumbscrew mount. I don't have a LPVO handy to try it with, but have a 4x ACOG, a Trij MRO, and a lower-power Leupold MK6 I can pop on and size up for comparison sake.
(The current setup has a skinny FOV in front of the 20mm Objective lens 29.5' FOV babyCOG - obviously no fault of the mount - but I need to see if I can get a larger sight picture with a bigger objective optic. Right now I can't see any of the menus on the RH25V2 through this teenyCOG)

https://i.imgur.com/ffDyQ4H.jpeg

It just takes three slots of pic rail space, simple screw-on riser-mount that has a female dovetail and a little spring-loaded lever on one end to capture the dovetail. To install thermal: Slide dovetail in, lever clicks up. To remove thermal: push lever down, slide dovetail out.

They're like $13 on Aliexpress, have both OASYS and Wilcox logos on them (sad), but there's no currently listed Wilcox product analogous to it. They're listed on Ali as "flip" but they don't flip or otherwise move.

I was disappointed with the available options when I started this project.
So I created a new dovetail for the Sting IR. It fits the Clone Wilcox FTS mounts, the FMA clone oasys mount, the Clone Wilcox Bridge, and the Clone Wilcox Gxx helmet mount.
The FMA clone oasys mount has the slightest play, I'm not sure that mount can even provide a tight lock up. Everything else locks up rock solid.
On the FTS mount, it lines the StingIR up with the standard height red dot great. If you want to use it with a taller red dot you need to use a spacer under the FTS, or you will lose the ability to line up with a 14 on a bridge.
On the Clone Wilcox Bridge, it places the eyepiece on the same plane as the pvs14, both up and down, and fore and aft.
I made the dovetail and spacer in 2 pieces, the dovetail can use alternate placement for other potential uses.
It also reuses the mounting screws that come with the Sting IR.
Both versions, Aluminum and Polycarbonate lock up tight.

I plan to do the rh25, sidekick, and breach next. Many variations forthcoming.

I just put the smallest dab or some adhesive/bondo type stuff into the female FMA OASYS dovetail channel, ran a male dovetail back and forth to spread it in the tracks, took it back out, and let it cure. Tightened things up.
I use it with a PVS-14 so it doesn't matter if it's a little wiggle (the IR laser is the important part of the accuracy equation here) but have put my RH25V2 in there as well with the iRayUSA pictail.

New dovetail and female channel are good.

The locking arm on the fma has play. Bending it up a slight amount takes all the slop out. My dovetail locks in rock solid now.
The arm needs to be bent up enough to create a good lock, but not so much that you can't get the dovetail in and out. It's a very small amount.

Just tried to update my RH25 v1 using the file a couple of pages back in this thread. Unit shut off but didn't turn back on, so I waited 30 min and then turned it back on.

No issues specifically, but now when I check firmware using the app it doesn't show a version. Any issue with me trying to load it again or do I risk damaging it?

Not sure if this is the right thread for this but I’m looking at finally getting a thermal and I’m looking between the rh25, skeetir L, and agm stingir. Question is do I need a 640 core to make hits to 600m or will a 384 or 320 do fine? I’ll be running it in front of an Elcan 1-4x. If anyone has pics (or would take some) of what a person looks like at 600m through a 320 and a 640 sensor on 4x that would be very much appreciated

I still haven’t played with my PF640/RH25 as a clip on, but just like NV…buy the best you can when you purchase. You might use this thing for a decade plus, and you’ll be disappointed knowing you left capability on the table if you buy into an inferior unit when you could have afforded a higher res option.

Just my opinion on the matter, but I’m sure I’d be leaving my PF640 in the safe much more if it was a lower res and I couldn’t spot, and identify, a mouse at 20yds based on the pics and experiences others have posted

I can’t help you in your A, B, or C choice, as I only have one, but buy once, cry once is very much a thing in this space, IMO.

[Last Edit: BobGenghis][Edited] [#36]
Buy once cry once doesn't always mean buy the most expensive one with the most features. If you have binos, the feature to run it side by side with a PVS14 is not a valuable benefit, imo

You could still evaluate the RH25 v2 to be the best for you, but only consider the features that you can use

For those of you that have played with the Rh25v2 for a fair bit now, any preference on the three image settings (Image Brightness, Image Contrast, Screen Brightness) for the best image?

I had all three settings around level 3 or 4 for the V1, but this set up for the V2 looked ok but didnt "pop" as I remeber those settings did for the V1.

I have a V2 and I do the same. Being able to change it based on conditions is the way to go.

On a bridge with a pvs14 I have to crank the brightness all the way down at night. Clip on and handheld modes depends on ambient lighting.

Depends on how you want to mount it:
If you only want to use your RH25 as a clip-on with no ambitions for helmet mounting, then you could use this very simple and sturdy mount: https://jv-innovations.com/products/apa-adm-picatinny-adapter/
If you want it to be multi-use so that you can mount it as a clip-on via Picatinny, or in a Wilcox flip to side mount, and also use it helmet-mounted, then you need an adapter like this: https://jv-innovations.com/products/sbr-shouldve-been-rail/
And of course you also need the appropriate mounts to go along with your preferred mounting method, so either the MQD Picatinny mount already mentioned above, or a Wilcox flip to side mount.

What mount for the RH25 would I need to get for a 1.54 centerline mounted optic?

I’ll second the SBR. Thing works like a charm

For the folks that want to run their RH25 primarily in clip-on mode, there is now a simple and sturdy solution available for Picatinny mounting:

Anyone run two of these as a HMT setup?  Ive seen 64mm as the smallest IPD when using a 14 & rh25.  Curious what people are able to do IPD wise on a KVC bridge and 2 rh25v2s

Three 50yd groups testing the ADM /iRay AC55 mount. The thermal was rotated out of the way after each cluster of shots.

Groups are nothing special, at that distance the pieces of tape are just a few pixels, but the mount seems like it’s solid and repeatable through use

I did upgrade the scope mount to a Geissele 2.04 and it lines up perfectly with the AC55 mount. Moved that setup to a lighter upper

Can anybody tell me the difference between these 2 iray dovetail mounts?

https://irayusa.com/irayusa-rico-micro-pictail-helmet-weapon-shoe/

&

https://irayusa.com/irayusa-rico-micro-compatible-mounting-shoe-for-dual-or-obverse-mounting/

Will both of these work with a KVC bridge mount with a PVS-14?

Using one of these:
