Tagging in as I'm looking to get back into NV and leaning the bridged 14/thermal route. Would the RH25 benefit by having a Supergain WP 14? Or standard WP 14. Brightness wise. |

Thank you, I had not fully explored the app to see you could see the device files in addition to the videos taken by the app. Lots of video processing to do now. I think my favorite thermal "thing" is the heat reflections. On a still night the trees behind my pond are perfectly reflected in the water. I have an old pic somewhere from my Breach of my first dog walking on the kitchen tile floor. Not only could you see his footprints, but also his reflection in the tile. Miss you buddy! |

Or, the glowing bits of beaver/nutria are reflected in their fiery path through the firmament. (I did not even see the beaver in the background since I am using this as a clip-on in front of an ACOG.) Attached File Video question, does it record at 50hz or slower usual TV resolutions. Reason being I was hoping to catch a frame of the bullet in flight but it didn't. At this range it should have been visible in 2-3 frames but it seemed to jump. Or would a bullet moving ~40' in a frame not leave enough trace? |

I hadn't planned on walking with it, more just the convenience of it being on the helmet. But I am at a loss as to what I want to do if I'm honest. I would like binos, then have a thermal as handheld, clip-on, but that's mo money of course. |

For scanning, you really need some native mag for identification. Same thing using it as a stand alone sight. You can certainly get it done with the RH25, but you are severely limiting yourself. As a clip on it works decently. Image is great up until about 4x then starts to drop. This may have been fixed with the V2, but automatically switching between clip on and scan mode every time you sat your rifle down was not ideal. Image quality is great, I can just accomplish way more for way less money for my purpose of shooting hogs and coyotes. |

Maybe a different Clip-On like the IRay MAH50 Mate, or a dedicated scope? |

While discussing the concept and, now, a mount designed and manufactured for this specific purpose on a gentleman's IG, the question was posed: "would this work with an RH25?" Keep in mind that the Flip is 2.69" advertised, whereas the Overbore is 2.33". Also, all I had was the ADM MQD mount. A lower pic mount may work better for tucking it in low and closer to the RDS mount, which may be preferable to some. However, the MQD does provide a cantilever to bring the thermal closer to you eye, which is also nice. I did not see how it all played with NODs but I suspect attempting to passive aim NV through your RDS with the thermal in place would cause a bunch of expensive things banging together but that is just speculation at this moment. I never really practiced this, but looks about the same if one were to run a magnifier on a Unity Tactical FTC. Extend that buttstock if needed. |

Yes, as with most piggyback dots, pushing it away with a longer rifle will help with the banging. Of course, if it's a magnifier, I just take it off for NVG play. |

Here's some frame by frame with the recording. Armadillo control. 300BLK supersonic out of a Liberty Leonidas integral upper. Just taking a screenshot from the video program. 1 - final frame before the shot Attached File 2 - shot Attached File 3 - 1 frame after shot (very blurry, recoil effect?) Attached File 4 - 2 frames after shot Attached File 5 - 3 frames after shot (clearing) Attached File 6 - 4 frames after shot (almost clear but you can see the tree is not as detailed) Attached File 8 - 6 frames after shot (skipped one frame to show when the tree gets back to full detail) Attached File |

Ideas for a lanyard mount? I'm getting a dedicated riflescope so RH25 will be more of a scanner. I have the SBR dovetail on it. Is there an easy way to mount a lanyard. I was thinking a dovetail female mount would be great so the RH25 with SBR could click in and out as needed. But I can't find something that doesn't have a $100 helmet mount attached.. I found some printable files that had a female plate that could be adpated, but there is no locking mechanism to keep the shoe it in place. |

Speaking of 3D printing, here's the RH 25 we have at home. Claims down to $400 range for 256 https://old.reddit.com/r/DigitalNightVision/comments/1i58yzn/project_thermal_is_done_device_works_great_i_will/ |

I messed up... While trying to diagnose what happened I found the ocular adjustment two white dots were no longer aligned (it had been passed around quite a bit in a group during deer season) and I wasn't 100% confident I put it in clip-on mode from scanning hand held. Can you tell from the video what mode it is in? Live and learn... Any idea why the scaling/blurriness is occurring in the beginning of the video? Looking through some twigs? This is the first time I have had a coyote make such an effort to get downwind of me. The one I shot at travelled 270 degrees to get around me. |

^ that's a new one to me Self-portrait tonight (cropped video still). I had set up the rifle and then went to check out a suspiciously hot area, that turned out to be an anthill. Later tonight went out and got 2 beavers with 2 shots, neighbor said she did not even hear my subsonic 300blk. Attached File |

The RH25 screen is even bigger than the StingIR’s so I would only assume it would work even better. |

| Excuse the novice question, but I am looking into buying my first thermal. The RH25v2 has captured my attention, as I’d like to be able to swap from helmet to weapon, how’s the RES on this with zoom? I’d be putting this infront of a 3.6-18x, curious if it would work well. |

You can use the RH25 with that optic but it will definitely not be ideal but it’s doable. The RH25 does well up until about 6x then after that it’s usable but not very good. I definitely prefer it in front of an LPVO at like 2x or 3x or a red dot with magnifier. There are other options more optimally suites for clip on thermals for that magification range, but the RH25 can still work. |

I would definitely look to keep it under 6X |

Does anyone know why the manual says not to mount it backwards in the pictail mount? As in, cantilevered back instead of over the mount. When looking at it, there is no difference in the amount of contact to the mount, since the bottom of the optic doesn't touch the mount even when its mounted "correctly". The reason being is I am probably going to end up using my RL25 as a dedicated optic and I need a little more eye relief. I wanted to use it as a clip on but I guess I'm an idiot and missed that the rl doesn't have that mode... I've tried zeroing the reticle through an optic and that left me with a wandering zero.

I've been out of thermal for a while but the new V2 has got me thinking about getting back in. Can someone clarify something about the clip on mode for me... Can set multiple collimation profiles on the V2? Meaning having Rifle 1, 2, & 3 set up for instance. So I can switch between multiple rifles and readjust the collimation to that optic by selecting that profile, without having to perform a new collimation to switch between rifles. Thanks |
