Anyone know what the F.O.V. is rated at and the eye relief on the factory 1.5 scope?
How forgiving is the eye relief on these?
Thanks

Also can anyone give the measurement from the top of the comb to the center of the optic on a STG 556?
Thanks.

I'd be interested in possibly buying one of these if anyone has one they do not require.

Eye relief is forgiving. I measure the height as 3 inch on the E4 optic, and 2.6 inch on the old style. I love the factroy optic, the only change I would make is illumination.

Wow, they seem way high for me.
On my ARs  the center line of the scope is 2 inches +/- 1/16in. from the top of the comb for a good cheek weld.

Standard AR sights is 2.7 inches. Cheek weld is really nice with these rifles. 3 inches is just right.
50 y zero I am 2 inches high at 100 y

AR sights from the BORE center maybe 2.7.
From the COMB to the peep center on a standard A2 is 2in +/- adj.
That is where I like my optic and why I asked for COMB to optic center measurement.
So what you are saying is the cheek weld is like A2 irons???????? Which would work for me if this is correct
Please advise Thanks.

Wish I knew where I could handle one of these. Would make it sooo much easier

Man,I can't believe there are no specs on this this thing????????? FOV, lens size, and so forth
I even e-mailed MSAR and no response yet.

So, is the 1.5 optic center on a STG 556 the exact same height as the peep center on irons on an A1/A2  AR?? (2in. measured from comb).

Anyone know where in SE MI. there might be one in stock I could actually look at?

Thanks.

Good place to start: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=43&t=271117

Looks like the standard MSAR 1.5x optic is 1.60" and the sights on an AR are 1.930".

stglmj, I saw that thread and was hoping it was a misprint 1.6 is too low for me.

I guess I will have to go with a rail model to get the scope where I need it.
Thanks

You are better off doing it this way.  The 1.5x optic is serviceable, but is 30 year old technology.  Modern red dots and the like are far more flexible for this type of rifle.
