| I am concerned about the dynamic stability of those. It appears the lead bullet is unlikely to be concentric with the jacket. This means the bullet will not fly true. Am I missing something? Does the lead get swaged down into the jacket and deform to fill the case, or is there a hollow space between the (upside down) bullet tip and the jacket? |

It is called swaging and the way most jacketed bullets are actually made. |

sigh adds stuff to do this to list I can't make heads or tails of this statement. Please clarify what this means? sorry, I would like to do this myself, it looks like fun however, I am poor because I keep spending all of my money on gun stuff so, I have a list of all the stuff I want which continually increases no matter how much i try and buy. The swaging die as well as bullet casting supplies are now on that list. sorry I suppose it wasn't a really great reply I could have just said neat I want |

I even have a swager. :-) So, I went back and looked some more and found the pictures of the cross-sectioned bullets. They are filling the case during swaging. |

I got into casting this year "just because it's something new to learn", and I've been eyeballing swaging for a while. Sounds expensive and time consuming as people are saying...or maybe they just want to keep it all to themselves. LOL Cast Boolits forum has a swaging section that has a lot of great info and some really smart people that are pretty good about answering questions. |
