Superb!  I can't stop looking at it.  Every little piece is a joy to look at.  I especially like the details of the melt job.  And those grips are nothing like I have ever seen.  Where can one find a set of those grips?

Edit to ask, what kind of finish is that?

WOW did it again!
Perfect in every way!
Like they say, it's in the details.
Pistolwrench is the MASTER of ultra clean, crisp, squared away, flawless DETAIL.
Been watching and wishing for a few years now and I always look forward to his posts.
Like always the pics do all the talking.

just more of a tounge in cheek Ya Think ? type of comment

j/k with ya.       Seems we have SEVERAL well known ,custom builders/smiths, frequenting our board ( much welcomed btw ) as of late AND posting under unassumed nicks. ( not that theres anything wrong that ). Hopefully they will feel at home here and stick around

Hypothetically, if a guy wanted to get something like that done on his stainless Colt Gov't, how much would he expect to part with for the service?

This gentleman posts on another 1911 site and is a master craftsman. I would give his name but I guess that would be a COC violation although he doesn't hide on the other site and it isn't LTW.

Chuck, there is a reason why I work two jobs. There is a reason why I pack lunches everyday. There is a reason why I'llbe flying to SHOT in a cargo plane filled with chickens. That reason is that I have an addiction to feed. Marvelous work, as always. Just remember, when you finish my Colt, there is an evil Operator that needs to be reborn.

npd233, I don't think anyone is being secretive.  I think it's more a matter that his work is so  recognizable by those that know him, that he needs no introduction.  Anyway, here is his site:

Thank you very much, hobbs.

Trying to figure out who he was, given just the board name and someone calling him Chuck here, could have been a stab in the dark. It's why I asked. Helpful bunch, here in the tech forums.

now - if Pistolwretch would be so kind and provide me a ballpark figure for a similar upgrade... I might be persuaded.

Pick up the phone or e-mail. I can't think of any professional pistolsmith that would put such information out on a public forum.
