Let's say hypothetically, your allowed to take a 9mm handgun with you to a war zone. What would you take?
I've normally been a Sig 226 person, but I'm open to other options. |
It's really hard to beat a Glock 17/19 for outright simplicity. I'd want one of them if I couldn't have a .45.
I think I would want a 1911 .45acp in a war zone. To each his/her own.........
If I had to take a 9 it ould be a Glock 17. Reliable, holds lots fo rounds and takes a beating. 1st choice would be a Glock 21 if amo was available.
why can't people answer simple questions. given the choices i'll take the glock, and won't push a 1911 agenda.

I'd be fine with any of those, but would choose a Glock 19. I just don't like the grip on the G-17.
Yes Alex, I will take "questions I can't answer properly for $200" (See Question at top of Page) WTF? |
SIG 226, although I'd rather step up from 9mm to the SIG 220.
If it had to be a 9mm my list would be very short:
Glock 17/19/34. A .45 5" 1911 would be my first pick every time. |
in a war - G17
ammo no issue - G20 - one hard hitting sum bitch.... I could bring the 6 inch barrel (to stay legal in NC) and deer hunt with it if rations were running low. |
I would trust an HK long before a Glock. But this thread implies that you have a choice, and if that were the case, I wouldn't carry a 9mm in combat. I would go without if I still had a choice, but 9mm was the only option available. Someone else said this before, but why carry a .45 set to stun?

Whichever I can get parts for the easiest.
A working handgun beats a non-working handgun every time. (Likewise, a handgun you can get ammo for always beats one you can’t get ammo for.) Barring the parts/ammo issue, I’d probably go for the Glock (despite being a big SIG fan) simply because it’s lighter and not likely to be your primary firearm anyway. The reality is that any of the handguns listed would be fine in the hands of someone who knows how to use them. There’s nothing magic about any of them – they’re all just bullet launchers. |

I'm a mutant and chose the CZ75 even though I carried a Glock 17 for quite a while in Iraq.
I like the idea of being able to carry cocked and locked. The major downside to the CZ75 is you can't get a Safariland 6004 for it. |
+1 70+ years and going strong can't be wrong. |
HK USP would be my preference. I wouldn't bitch if "all I had" was a Glock though.
I picked CZ75. Dead nuts reliable. Very Accurate. Points oh so well.
I'll take the Beretta 92. I'm proficient with it and have carried it in harms way many times. Only one that I haven't shot in a combat zone from the list is the HK USP. Did however have the MK 23 on the range with the M11, CZ75, and Glock 19. I'll stick with the Beretta its accurate enough for me to engage 100m targets.

CZ75 or the Glock.
The ony two guns I shot from the list, and I own a CZ75 therefore I know its functions very well. |
USP 9mm.
Can't really understand any reason for taking ANY of the other handguns listed in that poll. And yes, I own all of them except for the Glock. The USP is the most accurate, you can carry it cocked and locked, it has a standard grip angle, and its as reliable, if not more so, than every other handgun on that list. The USP is THE combat handgun. Thats what it was designed for, and it does it the best IMHO. |
