I'd love a high cap mag for the AA conversion kit. I have a Glock 17 with AA law enforcement 22 kit.

Works fine for me.

Man I'll tell you what, if you can make a reliable and affordable high-capacity mag for the AA conversion, you will not be able to keep them in stock!

I assume this will sit flush with the bottom of the mag well? (that's what I'm hoping anyway) If so, I am under the impression that .22LR magazine works the best when the rounds are kept in line and not staggered? How does your design account for that? I have always though that a Ruger 10/22 type of rotating cylinder might be the answer?

I am curious to see what you have come up with but if you are not ready to talk details yet, I fully understand.

Dan,

I can't be an effective beta tester because I spend more than 10 months a year in the Saudi oil fields. But I defintely want some for both my G17-22 AA kit and my G19-13 AA kit as soon as they become available.

if you need another beta tester, let me know glock 19 AA LE model.

Link Posted: 5/2/2009 9:21:28 PM EDT
AA doesn't make a 34 or 35 conversion. It would be a 17/22 slide on a 34/35 frame which is the same as a 17/22 frame.

Email sent for beta testing.

Any update on the status of the mags?

The planned design is for a 25rd .22LR mag that fits flush into the grip like the A.A. mag and does not protrude below the frame. Maybe some of the other Glock models will allow for a higher capacity .22LR mag, but we'll cross that bridge if/when we get there.

Thank you again to everyone that offered to help with the beta testing. I now have more than enough volunteers. As promised, I will let you all know regardless of whether or not your assistance will be needed. In the meantime, I'd appreciate your continued patience. I'd rather move slowly in the design phase and get everything right the first time, rather than rushing into beta testing with sloppy prototypes and ending up having to make numerous design tweaks along the way.

Thanks again for your interest in this project. I will be posting all project updates in this thread, so please don't feel you need to call or e-mail me in order to get the latest information.

If I could make a suggestion, is it possible that the magazine could be designed as an insert to a factory 17rd magazine body? It seems like a steel insert, including the feedlips, could be slid into a factory mag body, and still have enough room for 15+ rounds of .22lr. I think you could avoid a lot of fit problems and make a very consistent product by selling just the insert. Maybe you are already going in a different direction, but I would hate to see an all plastic, full body design that quickly wears out or fits poorly.

Sounds good to me. I would love to see these be ready by yesterday but I'd rather you take your time and get it right the first time. I also think you're on the right path as far as creating a new mag as opposed to a mag insert. Metal feed lips are always nice but the AA mags seem to work fine and last without them. No offense to eddiein but I think an insert is a horrible idea (regardless of capacity). I doubt there is even enough room on the 9mm mags to fit an insert into but if nothing else, instead of one mag for the 17/22 AA kit, you would need one insert for G17 mags and another for G22 mags and then another for etc., etc..

once you have the orig model done, i would be interested to see a version for G20/21
this will be alot better than the 13 rds i have now from the 3 round spacer.

Sent in beta test request. Also, when this gets rolling I would love to have some for my marvel preision conversion. I know they make some but they are only so so. I hope these AA mags won't be overly expensive although I do realize the huge cost to undertake something like this.

Good luck and let us know.

Thanks CCS! I'm happy to know it's still in the works. How much farther behind are the 19 mags after the 17s in your estimation?

Just tagging this so I can order some when they're available.
Link Posted: 10/21/2009 4:00:15 PM EDT
FYI: As long as they were fairly priced, I wouldn't mind if they ended up only being 15-20 rounds per mag. The AA 10rd mags arn't the easiest things to buy anyways... 15 rds would still be a great improvement over 10.... 17rds would be what a g17 mags carries anyways.
