| Bought an postban RML back in 92 and the very skinny ground off threads in front of the FSH have bothered me forever. What can I do about this? Put an AK-74 FSH on it and make it an AK-100 series clone perhaps with some modern furniture ? Rebarrel? Any other ides? Who else faces this dilemma? Thanks. |

That skinny muzzle bothered me too, but the canted front sight and trigger slap was more important to correct first. It turned out to be very accurate and AK reliable, eventually trading it even up for one with a welded but threaded muzzle. At $199 at the time, it is still a work in progress but shoots good the way it is. |

You can thread the barrel 1/2-28 and use any muzzle brake that will fit a AR-15. One of these AK-74 style brakes threaded for 1/2-28 would look good on a RML. www.blackjackbuffers.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76&products_id=366 Back in the mid 1990's I threaded my RML's barrel 1/2-20 and made a slant muzzle brake for it. Since then I have made a 1/2-20 to 14x1mmLH adapter and mounted a Krinkov muzzle brake on it. |
