Here is a site that has alot of great custom VEPRs: PARA BELLUM, INC. That site is owned by a fellow member, brokenbank. Here's a pic of my VEPR, before I sent the stock to Para Bellum for a new paint job (I will post current pics when I get the stock back).  PLEASE TACK THIS THREAD.

AltAK,

How do you like the Eotech on there?  I ran a Bushnell holosight on my Vepr and had trouble getting a good cheek-weld.  I ended up taking it off.

Nice piece!!! Where did you get the add on bayonet lug? -Bub-

The bayo adapter is designed for an AR heavy barrel. ID is .700" VEPR barrel OD is .700" I had to machine down the tip of the brake though so the bayo would fit.

any particular reason why you choose to machine down the break instead of boring out the bayonet?
3/14/2006 7:17:08 PM EDT
[#31]
By machining down the break the standard AR style bayonets will fit i.e. the M7 and the M9. Also that way the bayonets will still mount to my AR and my Mossy 590.

this is a little off-topic, but what kind of accuracy can i expect from a .223 VEPR variant?  And how much should I expect to pay for that rifle?  Can the barrel be free-floated?  Are there any after-market or custom stocks available?  What AK parts work with these rifles?  How reliable?  Easy to clean/service?  Can they be stored dirty or are they "frilly" like hunting rifles?  Any after-market match barrels available?  Weight?

Heh I know that's a seperate question but I really want one of these.  Alex Robinson is a family friend so I might get a little discount if i'm lucky.  Sorry for the hijack, just email me the answers or IM them and it would be appreciated.

Thanks

What stock is that and where can you buy one?

Thats a Choate Dragunov style stock. I believe thier website is riflestocks.com But if not you can just do a search for choate dragunov stock. Its made for a MAK 90, but they will fit right on a VEPR with no problems...

What foregrip is that?

Robinson sells a vented foregrip for the VEPR. The ones with 3 long vents hroizontally in the handguards are the robinson stock hangguards. Any other vented handguards are done by the owner or the owner has had them done. Heres my wifes....its the same one as shown above, just in black now, along with my .308

SOR thats a great looking super. I have a few questions
1) Is that the original stock, just modified? Or is it custom made wood? Either way it looks GREAT on that super. It took me a second to realize it was a super
2) Has it affected the accuracy better or worse changing the stock?
3) What kind of groups do you get with it? And with the original wood?

I believe it is the original stock that has been modified by the previous owner. The front handgaurd was  glass bedded as well. As for the accuracy, I have only shot surplus ammo thru her. Not much better than 2.75" groups with a good batch. I'm sure it would do better with some match grade stuff.

Thanks. Yes it was stock. The lever releaces the scope base, so the base and scope can be removed. Actually, it's the other way now. I just put a Zeiss V 2,5-10x50 on the rifle, with Leupold QRW rings. The lever got in the way, so i flipped it.
I've tested the rifle a couple of times on the range. Using Nato surplus 308 I got 20mm groups.
The rifle is one of few semi-autos allowed to use for hunting, here in Norway.
