I want an underfolder to go with my SGL-21. (Can't have just ONE AK) Just want a decent shooter without spending lots of $$$$. I see Yugo M70's for arround $450. Pieces of crap or o.k. ??? Alternate suggestions/ dealers would be VERY much appreciated. Thanks. |

I've got both the Yugo and the Romanian UF AKs. Both are nice and shoot well, but have a couple of differences. The Yugo is much heavier than the Romy and built like a tank. The Romy has the wood foreguard, is light and nimble and is chrom-lined (the Yugo is not). The Yugo has the grenade sight attached to the gas block system. The Romy will cost you a couple hundred more than than the Yugo, but is considered by many as a more refined UF AK than the Yugo. In light of all of this, I highly recommend and enjoy shooting both! |

When did Yugo underfolders get cheaper than a Romy??
When I bought my Romy 2 years ago, it was $430 NIB and about $100 cheaper than the Yugo. I thought the Yugos fit nicer, but Romys were chrome lined (hence my purchase) I agree, Romy's always sold for about $100 less than the Yugo's, at least at the gun shows I've been to. I have a M70AB2 and love it. (you'll need a G-2 trigger) As for the non-chrome issue...I clean all my guns after every range trip, no problem. |

I just bought a Century m70ab2 underfolder with wood forestocks yesterday up at j&g's storefront in prescott, az.
For what it is, it is extremely well put together. Far exceeding what i expected after reading about Century in general on the boards. I looked at 8-10 of the yugo underfolders in j&g's warehouse, they were all very well put together. |
| I picked up a Yugo M70AB2T underfolder 2.5 weeks ago, and shot it for the first time this weekend. Very nice rifle. It's probably a good pound heavier than my Romy SAR-1 which has an E. German folder and K-Var handguards. Both the receiver and barrel are heavier on the Yugo. It has a G2 FCG and black plastic furniture. I'm very happy with it. |
