how do you get the buffer tube lined up correctly?  is there a method to do so or just eyeball it and go?

already read those instructions shooter, and they don't give you any information about how to index the buffer tube correctly.  i'm guessing that most guys just eyeball it.

There are two finite controls...it is not an "eyeball" shot for the carbine receiver extension install.

1) Fore and aft
This is controlled by the tube buffer retainer interface.
The tube is threaded in until the buffer retainer (plunger) is captive and the tube is very close to the pin.
There is only one correct spot if everything is in spec (the keyway must be in the 6 o'clock position)

2) Left and right
This is controlled by the keyway on the bottom of the tube and the key on the endplate.

You mean keeping a carbine tube straight so the stock wont be crooked? I just eyeball it. Get finger tight, put the stock on it, put the stock between my knees to keep the tube from turning anymore and tighten it down.

right but there is some slop in the keyway fit. I usually split the difference torque the nut and then stake
